Mach4 General Discussion / Re: Current Status of Mach4 Lathe
« on: February 16, 2015, 10:23:57 AM »
I am running a parallel port now to a  CandCNC UBOB. From there it goes to the CandCNC router pack to drive the motors mounted on my lathe.

So it sounds like I will need a new external motion controller. Where can I get this?  It would be great if I could find a Mach4 plug-and-play system. I'm not afraid to replace things with newer stuff to get a better overall system.

I don't have any custom scripts.

Thanks,
Kerry

Thanks for the response.

What's the process for updating from Mach 3 to Mach 4?

Will I need a new breakout board and such so I can run this through the USB? If that's the case is there hardware available by some vendor?

Thanks,
Kerry

Mach4 General Discussion / Current Status of Mach4 Lathe
« on: February 10, 2015, 08:46:29 PM »
Please could you tell me what is the current functional status of lathe in Mach4 hobby version being sold on the website?

I understand the red highlighted G code functions in the manual are not yet implemented but what is the significance of yellow highlighted items?

I have a two lathes running Mach3 turn and want to convert them to Mach4 lathe. Is this possible now? I am happy to use long hand G code and no canned cycles as I have been doing in with M3.

Please advise.

Thanks,
Kerry

LazyTurn / Can't install LazyTurn - It's looking for Lvkrn15u.dll
« on: July 16, 2012, 04:00:47 PM »
Hello,

I am trying to install LazyTurn on my Win7 computer and get the following system error message:
The program can't start because Lvkrn15u.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix the problem.

Reinstalling LT just gives the same message every time.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Kerry Harrison

That makes sense Rich. I figured it doesn't hurt to ask though.

Would you care to share what proximity switches you're using and where they can be purchased?

Thanks,

I knew Art made Lazy Turn lazy on purpose but it should be rested up by now.  ;)

Sure would be nice if it could wake up this winter and get those bugs on the To Do list fixed. I use it regularly and it's a pain to have to edit the same errors out of the code each and every time.

Just a gentle nudge to let you know we're using the lazy bugger out here.  :)

General Mach Discussion / Re: Turn wizards not working properly
« on: February 27, 2011, 01:08:44 PM »
Hi Rich,

Unfortunately that makes no difference. I tried copying the wizard folder from my other lathe computer where the wizards all work fine to the new one that's having this problem and that made no difference.

This really makes me wonder if there isn't an issue with my computer? It's about five years old and running Windows 2000. However everything else seems to work fine, except these wizards??

Any other ideas?

Thanks,
Kerry

General Mach Discussion / Turn wizards not working properly
« on: February 27, 2011, 12:06:59 AM »
Greetings,

I'm having a frustrating problem with the Turn wizards on my new lathe.

When inputting numbers into some of the fields in the Turn wizards the numbers return to zero when the enter key is pressed. Other fields in the same wizards work as they should.

This problem only seems to happen in the ID wizards such as ID facing and ID boring for example. All OD wizards work properly.

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Thanks much,
Kerry Harrison

General Mach Discussion / Re: Lots of noise in system.

There is a free program called Soluto that runs at startup and identifies every program being launched. It also offers the ablitity to prevent each program from launching if you choose. I used this on my mill computer that runs XP with great sucess.

http://www.soluto.com/

Hope that helps.
