Might try, http://www.compumachine.com/Support/DL-Fadal.htm#manual-guide

It's free but not sure what you want training wise.

I just tried jogging the machine for an indicated distance of 10 inches ,the actual distance moved was 2 1/2 inches. Next I went back to "motor tuning " which was set correctly [in my opinion] at 2000 and changed the figure to 8000. I retried a 10 inch indicated travel and the result was the same 2 1/2 inches actual . cannot seem to figure this one out. any help appreciated

PS the scale vaues in the DRO are all set at 1.00.

Mike,

Sounds like you didn't save the 8000 setting, you need to click the save settings button and then the OK button, give it a shot and recheck your motion again.  I have been using Sheetcam now for a while and not had any problems IF the DXF is good and my initial scale is good.

Thanks Ted,

I'll have to give that a shot if I get a free momment, I have a Bobcat loader and auger due here Sat morning and still need to get my fence plans approved, mark up the lot, do a BOM of the parts... not much time to play with the mill this week.

Hood,

I was thinking of modifying the part

if(IsSafeZ() = 1) Then
   SafeZ = GetSafeZ()
   if  SafeZ  > z then StraightTraverse x, y,SafeZ, a, b, c

TO something like

if(IsSafeZ() < z) Then
   SafeZ = GetSafeZ()
   if  SafeZ  > z then StraightTraverse x, y,SafeZ, a, b, c

or something like that (I'm no programmer) may allow those of us doing manual tool changes to jog up/down zero the tool and continue.

Haven't had time to really look at it and decypher what's going on got some outdoor work to finish before the rains come and a machine rental coming this weekend to make the dirt fly!

Hood,

I can't see REM'ng everything out of M6end but I am sure something could be modified to prevent this.

General Mach Discussion / Re: What CAD system to use with MACH3 & LazyCam

Depending on what CAM software your using, generaly it seems most accept DXF format as input from the CAD software. Try a simple DXF in LC or there may be some sample files already included. I am using SheetCam now. I use Solid Edge 2D to create my parts save as DXF and then import them into whatever CAM software to create the G-code.

Dave,

If I understand your question, the answer is the Z axis component is set in the tool your using, you need to set up your tool for instance a milling cutter to have a start cut depth and final cut depth, additionaly you can specify per pass depth and inside or outside offsets.

Ed,

Just curious how you got from .jpg to .dxf or was it the other way round?

Haven't cut your file yet as it took me a while to extract the RAR archive, I did run the .dxf through my system and cut it and it looks great in lexan.
