Mach3 and G-Rex / G-Rex 4th axis rotation limit HELP
« on: January 07, 2018, 04:01:44 AM »
Hi All I need help.
I have Mach3 v3-042-020 and G-Rex  with the latest plugin running 4 stepper motors. Has been running sweet  for about 10 years but I just discovered my rotary table wont turn past 2790 degrees, once it gets to 2700 it starts counting down but table still rotates in the same direction ?
Updated to Mach3Version3.043.066 hoping it may fix the problem but no luck.
I can get the unlimited rotation  if I run without G-Rex, so I suspect its an issue with Grex not mach3. Spent a good 6 hours trying different settings to no avail.
Has anyone had any luck with rotation beyond 3000deg, I need to get to 7920deg. (22 full turns).
I have attached my xml

I overcame the heating problem (which was generated by the viton seal) by removing the spring and machining the seal so it only made contact by a fly-*********,
still gets warm around 50c but not a problem.

Belt driven, water cooled spindle speed increaser using 4 deep groove ball bearings. Increases spindle speed x 4. Works a treat
Acad file is 2004dxf.

Mach3 and G-Rex / Re: windows crash while cutting
« on: June 15, 2011, 05:57:37 PM »
sounds like a problem I han on my mill, my problem was caused by the computer control box  being bolted to the machine base, cuts that gave off vibration would shake the hard drive causing it to loose its way, stopping travel then restarting by itself.
Chased my tails for months on this one. Mounted the control box on soft isolation mounts and problem gone forever

Mach3 and G-Rex / G100 VFD Spindle speed Fluctuations
« on: July 31, 2009, 06:12:40 AM »
Can anyone help with this one?
My setup is - mach3mill latest lockdown version, G100 with latest plug in, DigiSpeed-gx controlling VFD.

The rpm of my VFD controlled spindle motor is changing  under heavy load, so much so that the steppers slow down due to the extra load (I think).
I did a couple of tests where I could get the slowing down to happen while making a heavy cut with the jog button and spindle set with M3S2500.

The result- speed goes up and down allmost stalling, I noticed on the G100 monitor page the analogue out would drop from 2.3 to 1.2 when the fault occurs.

The problem  does not appear until the cuts get heavy,

Did the same test but this time the spindle was controlled manually (VFD with a pot)  and there was no speed change, I doubled the feed rate  up to 300mm/min with no sign
of a slow down.

Could my feed rate override macro pump have something to do with it?

Just finished formatting  and all is good, no more memory leaks and its going like a rocket, I'm leaving win2000 with no updates to see what happens.
Thanks for your time Hood.

Did another install of mach3, still the same,
Hood, do you think if I format the hard drive and reinstall win2000 the problem will be cured.

do you think its worth uninstalling mach3 and reinstalling? I dont really want to do anything major with windows as the pc is far from network.

I have lodged a Bug Report  #0018, hopefully they will try and investigate further or offer a clue as to what is going on here.
