Hi to all,

Just curious how we go about setting the home position with Lasyturn
and also how do we machine a simple profile without the tool going to
x0 and cutting of the stock at the end.

I have enclosed a picture of what I mean.
Tried so many things which didnt work.

So far excellent addon, simple and easy !  ;D

Any thoughts,
Thanks

General Mach Discussion / Activating macros with more than one oem triggers
« on: November 10, 2008, 11:13:56 PM »
Hi All,
Does anyone know If theres anyway to activate different macro`s with different oem triggers?
I have searched alot of the threads ,with no luck.
From what I have read, you can only use the one oem trigger to run only one Macro,
is this correct???

Problem is I have a pendant providing button inputs to a BB, which inturn I would like
to activate,
 1.Auto Z zero routine (macro)
2.Auto zero xy offset routine,(from laser guidance).

Any help or ideas would be great,
OR   maybe there is a brain routine out there ....somewhere?

Thanks

Mach3 and G-Rex / Just curious with FRO and the G100
« on: May 21, 2008, 03:55:32 AM »
Is anyone using feed rate over ride (FRO) with the G100 and is it working

I know the setup guide states....`They work very well for a number of things but my favorites are FRO
(feed rate override) and SRO (spin rate override). To get full use of analogs.........etc etc

I have attached an example macro pump that I use for my FRO.............etc etc

And then at the end of the SAME  manual........Known Issues
9/19/07 FRO does not work as it should.

9/19/07 FRO does not work as it should..........(so it does something else does it????) maybe we should call it RFO   ie   REALLY F...ed off

Question ....Does it work or dosent it?????

Does Anyone know ,or can point me in the direction/post etc
to finding out how to configure/connect 12volt Proximity sensors
to a standard Breakout board.
I cant understand how to wire the one wire input (from the sensor) and
make it 5volts so the board can read it.

Any help ,would be great.

Mach3 and G-Rex / Z zero macro and the G100
« on: March 19, 2008, 07:52:57 PM »
HI all,
I have asked this  question on another post and thought I had it worked out...
But WRONG..!!!

Is there anyone out there who is using a auto Z zero macro with the lemon
,sorry I meant a G100, that works.

Before it(G100) gets put down by a bloody big hammer, I would be interested to hear from
anyone with a G100 that they are using and working.

General Mach Discussion / help with auto tool zero macro
« on: March 12, 2008, 09:29:17 PM »
Hi all,
If anyone can help,
Having a problem with a macro, which was posted awhile back on
zeroing a tool with a touch plate.
I am using the latest version of Mach and with a G100 GREX (could be the problem?)and stepper motors.
and very limited knowledge of scripting etc, however have read alot of posts on the subject .

The problem appears to be around the line Code "G0 Z" &ZProbePos 'go back to that point

as everything works up until there.

I position the tool over the plate about 1mm
run the macro with the M command
The Z axis zero`s.........The tool comes down and stops on the touch plate
and returns in the plus direction to about 18 - 19mm (varies each time I do it)........then the Z axis changes to 12mm .....then the Z axis positions to 38.## -  39.##mm

Here is the macro Iam using ,also I have only changed ,Plate thickness = 12

CurrentFeed = GetOemDRO(818) 'Get the current feedrate to return to later
PlateThickness = 12

If GetOemLed (825)=0 Then 'Check to see if the probe is already grounded or faulty
DoOEMButton (1010) 'zero the Z axis so the probe move will start from here
Code "G4 P2" ' two second delay
Code "G31 Z-20 F100" 'Z goes down a max of 20mm at 100mm/min
While IsMoving() 'wait while it happens
Wend
ZProbePos = GetVar(2002) 'get the axact point the probe was hit
Code "G0 Z" &ZProbePos 'go back to that point
While IsMoving ()
Wend
Call SetDro (2, PlateThickness) 'set the Z axis DRO to whatever is set as plate thickness
Code "G4 P0.25" 'Pause for Dro to update.
Code "G0 Z20" 'retract Z to 20 mm
Code "(Z axis is now zeroed)" 'puts this message in the status bar
Code "F" &CurrentFeed 'Returns to prior feed rate
Else
Code "(Z-Plate is grounded, check connection and try again)"
Exit Sub
End If

I know if I change the feed rate in this line of the script (Code "G31 Z-20 F100"

it changes the distance that z axis goes to after it touches the plate.

F100 z axis goes to about 10mm
F200 Z axis goes to about 5mm

My guess is the macro is looking at and computing  the feed rate DRO ,but how can I tell

Maybe its a another G100 thing, but if anyone can help, that would be great.

Mach3 and G-Rex / grex ? small rapid oscillations on axis
« on: March 09, 2008, 06:36:37 PM »
I know I have seen this a bit on other posts,so sorry for bringing this up again,
The problem I have is that grex is giving the stepper drives and then inturn the stepper motors IE,abnormal, inconsistent erratic
pulse and direction signals ,with mach 3 at idle,as I see by faint flickering pulse and direction Leds
on the grex when this happens.
I am using a relatively new laptop with bare bones operating system and figure it cant be the laptop as I disconnect the
ethernet cable when the problem starts and  the problem continues!!!!

I have isolated the grex from power wires, control box etc and still problems.
It happens on one axis then you cant jog the axis and then starts on another
So to start with does anyone have any ideas I could try. I am open to anything (like a 20Ib hammer)!

I did a fresh install of xp/mach3 using both licenced versions mach and G100 plug in which are R3.037(mach) and V3.037(g100).

Any help suggestions would be great

Mach3 and G-Rex / G100 and VFD`s
« on: January 29, 2008, 02:26:55 AM »
Hi all,

I am trying to control HSD (cnc Router) spindle speed with the G-100,through a VFD and not sure
if I can.
The VFD manuals states it can be controlled 4 ways
1. By the digital Keypad (on the vfd)
2. 0 -10 volts input.....        I understand the G-100 outputs at only 5v ,Analog.
3. 4 -20mA input......
4. RS-485 comm port
5. Potentiometer on the keypad (on the vfd)

Any help or info would be great.
