Tangent Corner / Identify Servo Drive Brand
« on: May 30, 2023, 04:25:43 PM »
Just a poor pic of 2 servo drives.
Trying to determine the brand.
Anyone recognize them ? maybe by the red stripe ?
They are in an older machine that I am considering salvaging.
Thanks for any help,
Russ

Bargain Basement / AB Servo Drives BUNDLE
« on: October 06, 2021, 05:13:39 PM »
 :) Hi folks.
Going through my surplus/spares and have these 3 nice drives that I can part with.
These were checked under power with appropriate motors and cables and worked fine. Have been in dry, heated office-like storage since.
I've used this type on several machines and they are top notch. Being the Sercos type, they are Indexing as well .... VERY versatile.
I'll take $600 for all 3, or might entertain an offer.
Cheers  :)

Tangent Corner / Cam lobe generator ?
« on: October 22, 2019, 11:03:06 AM »
 :) Hi folks.
I've got a project that requires a cam lobe of specified duration running in a yoke/fork with minimal clearance through complete revolutions.
Say the yoke/fork had a 2" opening. A 2" diameter cam follower offset .1" from its shaft centerline would oscillate the yoke .2 per revolution.
But ......
I want an egg shaped cam lobe that will have a duration of lift as much as possible per revolution but always measure 2" diameter at any point as to keep the yoke/fork free of backlash. I assume it would be shaped sort of like a guitar pick.  ::)
Is there a formula, or generator for this sort of thing ?
I can make a crude sketch if necessary.
Thanks.

Mach4 General Discussion / Failed to launch
« on: July 26, 2019, 08:20:13 AM »
I followed the topic regarding the new CV wizard and saw that I needed to update .... so I did.

Brett :  "If you do not have mcCvDistToleranceV001 in your wizard list you probably need to update."

Ran the new version and there it was. Very nice work Brett !

I go to start the SW today and get this (pic).
Reloaded the package and same thing.
Dwnld from the site again and reload ... same thing.
Can you tell me what happened ? ?  that it only ran ONE time at the very first attempt only ?
Thanks,
Russ

Tangent Corner / Bridgeport Spindle Bearings
« on: April 16, 2019, 02:38:52 PM »
Hi folks  :)
My SuperMAX knee mill is almost ready for new spindle bearings.
It has the Universal Quik-Switch 200 nose but is the same as a Bridgeport regarding the bearings.
I looked around a bit, but am wondering where you more experienced folks would normally go to purchase a set.
New or refurbished ballscrews are next ..... if there's any $$$.$$ left in the kitty.  ;D
Thanks for your time,
Russ ... in Eastern WV, USA  :)

:) Is my system on the fritz again ? ? ? or has someone busted the forum ?
I get unwanted videos running that I cant turn off and navigation is much more difficult than before.
Thought I was in the wrong place initially ..... (maybe I am  ::) )
Thanks,

I'm hooking up a second BoB to my USS using the ribbon cable to the DB25. Male to male ... dang it.
I said "I gotta run to the Radio Shack and get a gender changer".
She said "I thought you went to the clinic for that".  :o  ::)  :P

 :)
I found this old vest pocket book in a tool box bought at an auction.
Printed in 1901.
Was Tesla unrecognized at the time ? He's not pictured with the others ..... (I left that one pic large so you can view it and zoom in if you like)
BTW, no mention of LED's either ;D

Mach4 General Discussion / CNC drive AXBB-E
« on: March 09, 2019, 08:17:33 AM »
Hi folks.
Anyone here have any experiences with the CNC drive AXBB-E combination board ?
At first glance, it looks to be quite a nice package. An Ethernet controller priced reasonably with well documented instructions.
Thanks for any input.
