General Mach Discussion / I'm really confused
« on: November 01, 2014, 03:39:19 PM »
I have 2 XML files for the same machine. One is moving very smooth while cutting path consisting very small lines while the other one runs jerky . I can't find the reason.  I'm attached both files. and sample g-code

Additionally as I dropped the kernel speed machine cuts faster . for example at 100khz  300unit/min  at 25000 around 1400 units /min.   What a relation???

Is there any way to adjust spindle speed according to cutting speed (Unit/min) automatically? I need this to control laser power . While cutting small parts  kerf can not be under control with the 2.5d option . Mach3 calculates actual travelling speed .Can a macro to control spindle speed using actual vector speed overcome this problem ?

General Mach Discussion / smooth pulses for Laser
« on: April 24, 2009, 08:11:05 PM »
I was running with routers so far . Sure Mach3 is very useful for the routers.  Now I've  built a laser table and now trying to setup it now. My problem is the lines or splines etc are not smooth. Laser causes the errors are seen clear since the kerf is too thin . First I have used steppers driving by Geckos with 10 microstep . Resolution was around  0.1 mm. Unfortunately I 've get terrible results . I'was not expecting such a bad result. Lines, curves were too rough. Then I have converted the table drives to high resolution servo drives. Now Results are better but not as good as it should be. Now resolution is 0.02 mm. I guess the main reason to get rough finish  is not only the low resolution. Mach 3 gives pulses rough.

General Mach Discussion / limit switch response
« on: May 11, 2008, 06:46:34 PM »
 Hi everybody,

I have built a new  router table running with Mach3 . It works very well so far. Last  night I have added  limit switches and tried if they work well. My gantry can move  up to 20 inches  per second .  I have tried the worst case and  I jog  the gantry with maximum speed and it hit the limit switch . As you  can imagine this big mass  can not stop suddenly .Then  a new  approach come to my mind. Can't we configure to limit switches  as  to give a stop signal to stop the moving axis  with the  preset deccelaration value ?  Or  can't we add  a new  switches front of the  real limit switches to do this job?

My spindle  needs some time to reach full speed  So the axis movements should  wait for a while. How can I  do it by a macro?

General Mach Discussion / New simple pendant
« on: January 27, 2008, 04:37:35 PM »
I was  looking for a  pendant for my cnc router. Then I find a 12 function  game controller.I opened the case . The board was  suitable for external wire  soldering .I will use keygrabber to program it.

LazyCam (Beta) / lead in outs
« on: November 07, 2007, 06:53:38 PM »
Lazycam beta does not add G41-G42  to the g-code if I don't add lead in/ out lines or circles. Is it mandatory to allow lead-in /out linesor circles  to get  G41-G42 codes ?

General Mach Discussion / Rotary help
« on: October 06, 2007, 09:49:58 PM »

I'm trying to do  rotary  cuttings  but  I could not  go  one step ahead so far. First  of  all  my A axis is not working. I enabled A axis and  marked as  rotary .To see A axis movements   I edited a 2d tool path .I have  replaced  all  X  letters  with   A  .Then  I loaded and run the g code. All other axis works but  A axis does not move. Am I doing something wrong?      ???

General Mach Discussion / loop function doesn't work properly
« on: September 21, 2006, 07:39:34 PM »
Sometimes I use loop function to pocket  rubber label moulds . Usually  there are 50 copy of the mould  on a A4 size magnesium  plate . With this way the  toolpath program  can be kept  smaller.  I use this function  because with the  10 mb of  toolpath program  mach3  gives  watchdog alarm. But  loop function is not user friendly.Let's say  I write  there  5  then I confirm with the enter then  start the cycle  but  if I pause or stop the  cycle for any reason   it turns again to  0 .  I don't know it is a bug or not.
