Hello all.....I am pretty good with mechanical and electrical but have zero experience and knowledge of programming. I have a converted 4 axis Drill/Mill and am about to finish up a plasma table. I can do the cad drawings and work with cam software to do what I want but it would be much easier if I had a wizard.

The first would be either a modified "bolt circle" wizard for drilling holes. or a complete new application. The application is for cross drilling automotive rotors. The application will have to account for different diameters, patterns, and types. As well the application could be for a mill with a rotary, or a flat bed gantry drill.

I am willing to pay a reasonable amount for the service. Anyone interested can email me direct.

Thanks

Al

Newfangled Solutions Mach3 Wizards / Stock Diameter in "Cut Spline"
« on: August 25, 2009, 04:20:14 PM »
As per usual for me I am trying to make something designed for one thing do another  ;D

I want to use the Cut Spline Wizard to drill holes in a circular pattern, which I have found to work if I set the x feed to .0001 and as that tolerance does not effect my finished product all will be fine.

My question for someone who knows is....What does the value in "stock diameter" do?  I have changed this value and compared the finished codes to find no coded change. I have found its better to ask what I dont understand first, rather than discovering with broken bits and pieces at a later date  :o

As I know it will be asked.... :)  the reason I am pursuing this is my y travel is not large enough to handle the diameter of the pieces I am drilling, so I want to use my rotary table to turn the piece and will change the x axis for the hole pattern diameter

LazyCam (Beta) / X Y Position
« on: November 10, 2008, 02:24:51 PM »
I have drawings referencing center lines, so my drawings are both - and +  X&Y. When I import the dxf into Lazycam the drawing becomes positive X&Y only. Am I missing something in Lazycam (licensed version) to allow it to use and post - & +

LazyCam (Beta) / Pocket Parameters
« on: October 23, 2008, 02:41:50 PM »
Hi all.... I have just started using Lazy Cam Pro and have managed to figure allot of it out. Enough to pocket out some script so far.

I do need help understanding the pocket parameters     By default it displays "step 50%" and "overhang 50.00" I would like to know what these are in reference to?

"Tool diameter" is self explanatory and "finish 0.0100" I am assuming to be the final pass cut depth, please correct me if I am wrong  :)

Newfangled Solutions Mach3 Wizards / Gear Cutting with 4th Axis
« on: November 26, 2007, 03:22:58 AM »
My apologies to all if this is a duplicate, but I have been looking for the past 2 hrs and cannot find anything on th NFS Wizard Gear cutting and using a 4th axis.
Am I missing the info some where? or is the gear wizard only for a manual rotary table?

Thanks all
Al
