Hi guys I'm getting a Run Error Line 2 unspecified failure.
It is stopping on the line for spindle start.

I can hit any key on the key board and it will start the program but the spindle
dose not start.

When the program starts  running a VB scipt editor box appears,
The word DoSpinCW()

I have been generating code with the same cam software for about 5 years
and this is just started happening.

General Mach Discussion / Retro fitting a Fadal/Haas ect.

From time to time I run across a VMC like a Haas,Fadal, Mazak  at actions.

They are sold as is where is and I don't want to fall prey to some ones
proprietary controls.

Has anyone retrofitted a commercial VMC with a tool changer with Mach?

I hope I've posted this in the right place.

Hi guys it's been some time since I've post here.

The code for cutting a part that I've done many times
for my customer. It has 2 tools and I've been cutting them 1 at a time
for a few years now.

My customer placed a order for 200 parts and now I'm building
a fixture to do 8 at a time.

The code that I'm post is for tool 1 and here's and example
of how I have done other code in the past.
A lot of copy and pasting.

Is there a simpler way?

The parts are 2" apart in the X.

Hi Guy's,

I have a job in the shop that requires some tight tolerances for some round holes  +/-.0001.  
I tried doing this in one set up but I'm getting a variation of .00015 between the X & Y axis.
The holes are not round.  
This job should really be done in a Lathe, but all I have is a manual Lathe in the shop and I have to make 30 parts to make so
I'm going to try to do this job in the mill.  
This is an adapter plate with 2 sets of hole patterns and some counter bores and alignment steps.
What I would like to do is sit my 4th axis up and rotate the 4th axis as I move the end mill across one axis (X or Y) as a 4th axis turns my part.
If one of you guy's could just show me a little piece of code that would rotate my 4th axis continuously, I can take it from there.

Modbus / Can A Modbus control a.........

Can A Modbus control a stepper driver and still
take on 30 I/O’s ?

I was looking at Automation Direct Modbus’
and there’s a lot to choose from do you guys
have a model that you prefer?

General Mach Discussion / Mach 3 hiccups - Please Help

This is a question about Mach 3 and my Tormach.  I have a program that has 4 tool changes in it and I'm using M commands to control the coolant.  In between one of the tool changes I manually turned the coolant on so I could aim the nozzle for that particular tool.  Then I switched the coolant switch back to auto and pressed cycle start.  The machine started to move and did not turn on the spindle.  The next time I done this a couple of parts later, I hit cycle start and the spindle started as it should and the tool run through the program but the part was about .050 shorter than it needed to be.  I have noticed strange things like this in the past but I never could figure out what was going on.  If I mess with the coolant switch in the middle of a program this thing develops a hiccup.  If I leave the coolant switch set to auto everything runs as smooth as glass.  Is there a software update that I need to download?  Or do you have other people with similar problems that haven't figured out that messing with the coolant switch has caused this.  I know it sounds strange but this is the only thing that I'm doing different while running the program and every time I mess with the coolant switch in them middle of the program something odd like this happens.  When I say I'm messing with the coolant switch - this is while the machine is setting idle in the middle of a tool change.

This is some weird stuff guys, After this was cut I checked my X/Y position and found that my X was out over an inch.
This sould been a round hole. I was cutting this on my Tormach.
Take a look at the code and see if any thing is wrong.

Hi guys
I need a little help with this code.
I can set axes A to 0.000 and it starts
running the part from that postion.
The next postion is A-135 and it will
go to that postion and everything is
on track after that but it completely
skips A-90.
There is a fixture in the tailstock that
has to be indexed.
Now I can set the fixture to the A-90
postion and start the job and all is well
but this is a pain.
The fixture has a indexing mark to set it at
A-0.000 for seting up the part.
Why dosen't the A axes move to A-90
from A-0.0 then start running the job?

General Mach Discussion / ATC for Tormach

I’m looking into building a ATC for my Tormach.
I’m going to build one that works like a Haas tool
room mill tool changer.

It will sit to the left of the spindle and slide under
it on a track and hold 10 tools in a round magazine.

The Tormach is setup with steppers, should I put a
stepper on the magazine to index it or use a servo?

Hi guys I wired a probe into Mach3 today.

When I tested my probe I found that it needs
to be normally open. 

My probe is normally closed,

How and where do configure Mach to work with
this probe.
