General Mach Discussion / two motors one drive?
« on: June 21, 2007, 04:37:36 PM »
Hey Guys  can I run two identical motors off the same drive as long as I don't exceed the amp rating of the drive ?
They are pacsci motors  65v @5 amps  I want to run two of them on a pacsci 165 v  13 amp drive . Can I do it and would it work .
I have two x-axis screws, I tried to mechanically link them via a chain but there is some amount of slop and I'm getting binding .
So I thought that I would put a seperate motor on each screw and run them both off the same drive would that work? what do you think  possible or not ? :-\
 Thanks Guys for your help

General Mach Discussion / limitations?
« on: May 29, 2007, 09:26:58 AM »
Hi guys has the 1,000 line limitation been changed to 500 ? I had downloaded the latetest version at the time it was .73 I  believe and it wouldn't run more than 499 or 500 lines . I uninstalled it and reinstalled lockdown version .65 and it will run  999 lines . Have the line limitations changed? Has any of the other limitations changed?
Thanks Bob

« on: March 16, 2007, 07:47:52 PM »
Hi Guys I have a text file that I developed from a kayak designing software it doesn't export to dxf.
Can any body tell me how to take those x/y cordinates and write a gcode file that I could cut  with mach?
Material thickness is 3/4".  This is a station form for a kayak that I modified with the kayak software .
I'm trying to build a kayak for my girls .
I'm sure its not hard I just don't know how to format the gcode ( which gcodes  to use and where  )  its just a 2d file . can anybody help me?
Thanks     Bob
