General Mach Discussion / RoboTool CVM-1 upgrade
« on: February 28, 2012, 08:34:33 AM »
Hello,

A friend has a RoboTool CVM-1 milling machine that is presently working.  He has seen my
small desktop router and admires the MACH3 software.  We were wondering if it is economically
feasible to upgrade his machine to use MACH 3.

His machine uses servos - for example is it a matter of connectiong a specific BOB to his controller
boards and then to a PC with MACH 3 on it??

Thank you,
Octavio

General Mach Discussion / Help with Motor Tuning
« on: October 11, 2011, 03:11:42 PM »
Help

My K2 2514 mill is as follows:

3 - axis X,Y,Z
X - Kelig K23H286 425 oz-in
Y - same
Z - Kelig K23H276 282 oz-in
All 3 wired Bipolar (parallel)
Lead screw on all 3 axis 10 TPI
Using Kelig KL5042 Drivers on each motor
MACH3 set to 25000 kernel speed

I have set the micro-stepping to 1/8 which means
1600 turns/rev
In MACH3 - Motor Tuning - I have set the steps per
to 16000

Problem is when I send a command to travel 1" in
any direction, it only moves .2"

Any help would be appreciated.

General Mach Discussion / Missing steps
« on: December 15, 2010, 08:10:55 AM »
Hello,

Wonder if there are any tests users have come up with to test for missing steps?
Should the test(s) be performed under a load? or can they be done with no-load?

Trying to narrow down some routing problems.

General Mach Discussion / Driver Test
« on: December 13, 2010, 01:07:23 PM »
Hello,

In trying to resolve some problems, I went back to square 1 and did a 'driver test'.
The CPU is 1794 MHz - Parameter control is 25KHz - Pulse rating says System Excellent -
Pulse/sec is 23268 - Time between Pulses in uS is a flat line around 40.

The when I go into MACH3 and into 'Diagnostics'  I get a Pulse Frequency of 23235 then
it will jump to 131 then up to 22771 then to 98 then to 23235 - back and forth.

There are no other processes running.

Is this normal?

G-Code, CAD, and CAM discussions / Alignment problem
« on: November 14, 2007, 08:32:44 AM »
Am taking this opportunity to attach a file that I can't seem to get to align properly.
You will see that the bottom most rout is not aligned with the upper 12 routs.  Or
vice-a-versa - the top 12 are not aligned with the bottom one.  Whatever.
Would like help to get all aligned.

Thank you.

G-Code, CAD, and CAM discussions / G code help
« on: October 15, 2007, 08:54:35 AM »
Hello all -

Newbie to CNC - please be kind.

After searching thru the archives for the past week - no luck.

I have a small PC board (1" X 2") that has 3 holes drilled in it.  It is
'step & repeated' into a 6 X 8 array.  Using "Excel" and 'copy & paste'
I have programmed the job.  Something like about 150 lines of code.
It seems like there should be a step & repeat command to do the same thing.

Embarassing I have to admit that I was part owner in a PC board house -
just never got into the NC end of the manufacturing.
