General Mach Discussion / Need limit switch help
« on: July 17, 2006, 07:20:27 PM »
Have my X axis up and running but have no way to keep it from crashing into the frame if I make a mistake on my Gcode. Running 640 motors and Geckos with Mach3. 1. Do I need to order NO or NC? 2. Where to get them? 3. What wire to interrupt? 4. Do I need to change my Mach settings? Any help will be appreciated.

General Mach Discussion / Mach Tutorial
« on: April 27, 2006, 09:49:19 AM »
I'm satisfied I'm the only one who needs it because I don't see a single other request for it. But I would love to have a tutorial on how to use the program. I have Mach3 downloaded. Beautiful to look at. And I have my newly built CNC appratus standing by for test run. But I simply do not know where to begin. I saw one poster make mention of video tutorials. But I don't see them anywhere on the site. Can anyone help?

Where to begin. I'm not going to build my machine until I have witnessed all three motors responding to commands. That's just the way I want to do it. I have my power supply built. (Please don't think that means I know anything. I just followed the directions.) The PS puts out 37.5 VDC with three fused terminals. I have three 201 Geckos.  I have my three 640 oz motors. I have some linear rails and some plans for a machine. I have a dedicated computer for the system. I don't have a controller software, and I'm told that I might need a breakout box. I don't know what a breakout box is or does or where to put it. And I don't know if the box has to be matched to a particular software such as Mach. I hope you guys will address the issue of the breakout box (or board) and which one you recommend. Then I'll deal with the next issue. Thanks to all.
