Mach4 General Discussion / Mach4 pendant
« on: July 02, 2021, 03:16:33 PM »
Suggestions for an affordable (dongle) pendant that will be compatible with Mach4. Connected through USB.

For those that have done this, can you tell me if this is just a simple switch, or will I have to reconfigure any settings (not counting identifying the new controller).
Would appreciate advise.
Thanks,
Tim

Mach4 General Discussion / UC100 not found.....check connections
« on: March 14, 2021, 12:06:09 PM »
Blew a fuse somehow yesterday and after replacing it when opening Mach4,  I get the above message. Both lights are lit on the adapter so it is supposedly communicating with the computer. After going into the Config and Diagnostic tabs the message is "No UC100 connected!" at the bottom of each sub-page. I have checked, rechecked all connections. Tried different USB ports. Rebooted computer. Went to the Device Manager on my computer and don't see the UC100 listed anywhere. Any help or instruction would be appreciated.

Mach4 General Discussion / Issue with wandering toolpath corrected.....
« on: February 07, 2021, 11:51:52 AM »
I had posted for some help when I encountered my machine wandering off path after a while when I started to cut a program. Being a total new guy to this, I didn't have a clue where to start to look. After getting some really good help from Brian, he figured it out quickly. The toolpath needed to be regenerated and the tool speed needed to decrease. After these corrections, everything was back to normal and the test piece I ran came out great. If you have the same issue, this is where I would start. Now I know. Hopes this helps others with the same problem. Thanks Brian for all your help.

Mach4 General Discussion / Setting probe dimensions
« on: January 08, 2021, 04:23:58 PM »
Can someone give me a hint as to where I need to input the height of my probe block for Z in Mach 4. Finally got it working and now would like to use it. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Tim

am ready to pull my hair out...(If I had any) I am totally inexperienced and need anyone to help me get out if the gate. Bought a 6040Z 4 axis machine that was supposedly USB and not parallel port.  Came with an adapter (apparently not a UC100) and drivers for the software (pirated Mach3, I'm sure). I installed everything and got it to actually work with that but decided to get a legit UC100 and legit software from Artsoft. Spoke to support and they advised what I needed , so I purchased everything suggested. Installed the hobby version (will be buying the license as soon as I can get this going) along with the UC100 adapter. At first the UC100 software would not load correctly, but I think finally did. Used the cryptic online instructions for setup, but don't think I am doing something correctly. Can't get anything to move and in some setup screens can't change anything. If there is a benevolent soul out there that would be willing to handhold me to get this running, I would be very grateful. I know I need to learn a lot.
Thanks for reading this.
