Mach4 General Discussion / Cannot Get Machine Set Up
« on: October 07, 2023, 03:36:27 PM »
I'm having two issues that prevent me from using my system (Mach4Hobby - SmartBOB 411 - Windows10): Running GCode and Using Touch probe simply do not work.
I can manually drive the mill using keyboard and Shuttle Pro. X, Y and Z all work fine and I've been able to tune the motors. What I cannot do is run any gcode files with the exception of the included "roadrunner." If I load existing gcode made in Aspire (Mach2/3 Arcs in inches and .txt)  and hit Cycle Start Gcode, nothing happens.

Regarding touch probe, I get an LED connection in the interface when I touch wires, but when I start a Find Z probe, I get ERROR: No Contact with Probe. Previous issue saw the Z moving, but not stopping when i touch wires together.

My Probe inputs are: Mapping Enabled/Device: SmartBobUSB/Input Name Pin10/Active Low checked/Log Enabled checked

Thanks,
Luke

Mach4 Toolbox / Can't Get Touch Probe Working
« on: September 25, 2023, 05:21:52 PM »
Running Mach4 Hobby with PMGX 411 Smart Bob and a GeckoG540. I have the motors tuned and can drive it around, but I am unable to set Z using the Touchoff UI.  In input signal tab I have probe/Mapping Enabled with a green check. Device is SmartBob. Input name Pin 10 with Active low and Log Enabled are both checked green. I can see the probe wires light up the LED when i touch them together. If I run the Touchoff Button, it will lower the Z, but if I touch the wires together (not connected to bit/plate) ERROR: I get Unexpected Probe Touch.  Hoping this is something simple. Thanks

General Mach Discussion / can't get proper Z
« on: October 31, 2022, 05:13:22 PM »
Hi
I am unable to get proper Z-Zero using either a Button Script in the Tool Information pane with the script linked below, nor with the Hoss Touch Screen Set. In either approach, I set plate height to .250. It descends down to plate , touches and then retracts to what the readout says is one inch. It's not, putting a 1-2-3 block next to the bit, it's up 75 inch (eyeball) When I then remove the touch plate and hit "Go to Zero, it descends down to .125 off the table and says its at Zero.
At wits end.

General Mach Discussion / Setup and Control issue
« on: May 05, 2020, 08:41:24 AM »
Hi. Returning after many years. Setting up Mach on a new machine and I'm having trouble with the Y axis. It will jog when I press the up arrow key, but won't stop. If I reset and jog in the opposite direction, it will start/stop , but only in that direction.  X and Z function fine. Windows7, parallel port/Gecko 540/Nema 23
