Mach4 General Discussion / Prevent Cycle Timer from zeroing?
« on: March 04, 2021, 06:12:06 PM »
Hi.
I have a MACH4 question.

As the title says, I would like to stop cycle time when the program ends, but without resetting it to zeroes, as it does every time at the moment. Is it at all possible? I have been trying editing G-Codes for this, but no luck so far. Thanks for any suggestions...

Mach4 General Discussion / CV Tuning Wizard
« on: August 17, 2020, 12:39:02 PM »
Hi.
I am running ESS with the newest recommended version of plugin and newest MACH 4 recommended for ESS, but having a problem with MC CV Tuning Wizard. Basically it does not retain the settings after clicking apply and it does not have any influence on my machine regardless of being on or off. With older MACH 4 and older ESS plugin the issue was the same.

The reason why I am trying out CV tuning is because I have a problem with irregular "teeth" like shapes appearing on the edges of my cuts whenever cutting at angles or cutting circles. Reducing feed rate and acceleration rates improved the results a bit but "teeth" are still there always the same places (like at 4 points on the circle 10 o'clock 2 o'clock 4 o'clock 8 o'clock) The machine slightly vibrates there and creates ridged edge then goes smoothly until reaches close to the next point, there vibrates and moves and so on...

Is CV wizard the way to fix it? How to fix the cv wizard?

Thanks

Hi. I need an advice with choosing a replacement for Chinese XHC card for mach 4.  To put it simple the Chinese product I have is driving me nuts. I have to recommend a replacement to my service engineer, he promised to replace it for me, but there is a size limit I can use because the cables are short. The current card's dimensions are 184x127x30mm. Manufacturer webpage :( http://www.cdxhctech.com/html/eProduct/view_216_406.html ) I have been considering Ethernet Smooth Stepper, I have Mach 4 Hobby licence, but unsure about the right BoB for me, with adequate input numbers, pins and size of the card being my biggest concern. I just don't have enough knowledge to decide and to have a hassle free experience ( I had enough nightmare with my current XHC card). Any help, especially based on personal experience, will be very appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Mach4 General Discussion / Mach4 use with XHC card
« on: April 20, 2020, 08:54:07 PM »
Hi everyone.

I am new here and finally (with great help from Craig) I got my machine configured in Mach 4 and running. Now I got stuck on running a g code file created in vectric aspire to test my machine. As I use the infamous XHC Chinese controller card, (MK4-M4) I am limited to using wxMach.exe instead of Mach4GUI.exe to start my Mach 4. This restricts my screen settings to fix set and some buttons are not even displayed. ( If you would like to see what I am left with just start your Mach 4 from wxMach.exe inside your Mach 4 folder.)

Now I finished my soft limits setup and when I try to run a file I ref all axis home, then jog to the corner of the material, jog down on Z axis to the thickness of a paper, I load G code file ( see in attachment) and cycle start gives me a warning about Z axis exceeding my max soft limits, ( it sends me above Z=0 into positive) and when I changed my soft limits for Z, another warning on X axis soft limit. (I will not change that as I am worried about clamps and possibly sending me to work outside of my table).

I have a problem with setting a work zero as the button is not visible on wxMach.exe settings ( check attachment of my screen) and unsure if this is the cause of my problems or the G code created in Aspire is wrong.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
