General Mach Discussion / constant velocity issues

I have run mach3 for countless jobs, but recently had to change the computer , I used the original configuration .xml file, but the machine seems to not to work smoothly in constant velocity anymore and appears to behave like exact stop. the only thing i can think of is the new machine is a little slower (1.2 rather than 2.4 mhz) and wont calculate cv. Am i barking up the right tree?

Is there a way of having a big analog style rotary feedrate dial control speed override in Mach 2/3 rather than up/down buttons?
Its a bit more hands on for optimising cut.

 also I have concieved a device that gets sticky taped to the surface of the work piece and listens to the harmonics of the vibrations, then varies the feedrate for smoother cut/ longer tool life in the same way a good craftsman 'feels' the tool. This would then control feedrate also.

General Mach Discussion / Automatic tool change for router table

 I would like to setup automatic tool change for my router table (vacuum collet style), i understand this is possible, so i wouldnt have to write the motions and relays into the actual g code. Instead preset tool change motions are some kind of subroutine( i presume).
Also what is meant by VB?
Can anyone shed some light on how i should start going about this.....
