Hello,
I just upgraded my version of Mach3 from 3.043.022 to 3.043.066. It does a great job of fix the problem I had with rapidly changing lines of code.
But I see the label TOOLDESC has been changed since ver 3.043.038. I've come to rely on this tool description to make sure I've loaded the correct tool.

Can someone explain this statement from the Mach3 change log to me alittle more?
-- Changed "TOOLDESC" label changed to reflect the discription of the offset rather then the tool

Is there anyway to get the tool description back?

Is there away to get a copy ver 3.043.036, the version right before the TOOLDESC change?

Thanks,
Barry

Hello,

Please look at this short video of my system after I did the latest Windows Vista Update

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c7wAvIYpWw0&feature=youtu.be

The biggest problem are the pauses between line of code in the X or Y axis. It does not seem to have a problem with the Z axis.

Things that I have tried to fix it:

1) Searched Mach3 forum...I saw a few posts but see no resolutions.
2) Installed R3.043.062...Pauses stayed the same but had other issues. Went back to R3.043.022
3) Used Windows System Restore to a point when Mach3 was working fine...Still have pauses.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I have a job for the mill coming up and I don't think I can run it this way.

Other issues that are just minor but maybe someone has an answer.

1) Long spindle Dwell after spindle start up but before Z axis movement. Shown towards end of video.

2) While in Single Step mode and Feed Hold is pressed while the machine is still in motion. Pessing Cycle Start, Single Step mode is disabled.

Thanks for looking,
Barry

General Mach Discussion / Mach3 Mill, spindle index and G95?
« on: June 08, 2012, 02:55:28 PM »
I have finished installing a spindle tachometer using index pulse on my mill.
I was intending to use the tach signal with the G95, Feed per Rev.

During testing, Mach3 will run G95 code but not in real time. Meaning it set the feed rate after the last S word (RPM, S2000) but not on the fly. If I slow the spindle RPM manually during an air cut, the feed rate still doesn't slow.

Why I care is because I was hoping to use this as way to speed some parts I'm making. (My mill only has a 1 HP spindle) The parts have contouring mid point on a surface. So I plunge in and then contour across the surface.
During the main cut the spindle load is only 50% but during the initial plunge it is at 100%. So I was thinking that 'feed per rev' would slow the feed when the spindle was "bogging down" during the plunge and prevent spindle stall.
Then the feed would pick back up during the main contour cut. I'm surprised this is not working because Mach3 lathe does the feed to rev well during threading.

So am I asking Mach3 Mill to do something it can't or do I have a setup/config issue?

Thanks,
Barry

General Mach Discussion / Is this basic script possible, please help.
« on: June 04, 2012, 02:12:34 PM »
Hello,

I'm wanting to setup an automatic pulley number detection system for my CNC mill controlled by Mach3.
I have the detection hardware pretty much figured out but writing the Mach3 script is over my head.

Here is my attempt to create a flow chart of events.

                  Press Cycle Start button
Check port 2 pin 13 for low
   yes                                        no
set OEMcode 56 to 1        set OEMcode 56 to 2
                OEM code 1000 (cycle start)
                Ignore port 2 pin 13

Hope this makes sence and some one maybe able to help me out.

Thank you,
Barry

Hello,

I have made a copy of my current Screenset and its associated XML that I will use for mod testing.

How can I get the 'copied Screenset' to use the 'copied XML' and not the original XML file?
(Yes, they have been renamed)

Thanks,
Barry

Screen designer tips and tutorials / Modifing an exsisting screen?
« on: December 16, 2010, 02:31:52 PM »
I would like to start using the Silver/Blue Screen set for my Tormach Duality Lathe. It looks much nice and has a little better functionality than stock.
But a unique requirement of this lathe setup is the need to home the Y axis, zero the Y in G54 and display the Y position.

For me, someone how has never programmed or anything of the like, does this sound like an easy or advanced modification?

Thanks,
Barry

General Mach Discussion / Help Installing .m3s screens?
« on: December 14, 2010, 11:05:26 PM »
Hello,

I am attempting to load the Turn Blue Silver screen that is in the m3s format.
When I double click the file I get the 'Windows can not open this file' and not the 'Screen Installed' message.
I'm using the Tormach build of Mach3.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Barry
