Newfangled Solutions Mach3 Wizards / Suggestion for a new wizard
« on: September 17, 2009, 12:18:26 PM »
I'm not sure if this has been asked, or if it already exists somewhere else, but here is a sugestion for a new (or modification of the gear) wizard.

Many times, turned components will need wrench flats or cotterpin or safety wire holes. I would like to suggest a wizard that could mill either 2, 4 or 8 wrench flats, drill cotter pin holes, or safety wire holes (thru the corners of a hex) using the 4th axis. It might be best to have 3 wizards, since hex stock could be used but holes for safety might still be needed, if cotter pins are used, safety wire isn't, and if safety wire is used, cotter pins aren't.

Just a thaught.

Feature Requests / xml profile name in blue bar
« on: August 25, 2009, 12:33:51 PM »
Would it be possible to add the name of the .xml file in the blue bar at the top alon with Mach3? I run a 3 in 1 with Mach 3 and it would be nice to show the profile in the bar. I'm sure some people run multiple machines with the same computer, so the profile listed would give allow the operator to verify that the correct .xml is loaded.

General Mach Discussion / Shuttle pro V2 problem
« on: August 15, 2009, 03:28:40 PM »
Hi all, I posted on the download thread, but figured I would post here also.

I just got a Shuttle pro and am having problems. I've got a licensed version of mach and it has been running my shoptask for over a year. I loaded the shuttle pro plug in, configured a couple buttons, restarted mach and the shuttle will cause the leds to change as if it is working, but all the motors sit and grind with no movement. Tried deactivating the plug in by unchecking it and the same results except the shuttle doesn't do anything, just the normal jog causes the leds to change but no movement. Removed the shuttle dll and restart computer and mach works correctly.

Figured it may be a version issue, so downloaded the latest lockdown of mach and tried again. Tried with the plug in that downloaded with mach, and a couple of the other versions that are on new plug in thread. Same results for all. If the plug in is there, the motors just hum and grind with no real movement. With the dll removed, mach works normally.

Shuttle pro drivers are not installed and when I plugged it into the USB the first time, the pop up saying it was found appeared.

USB port is on the computer, shuttle wire doesn't run near the motor wires, usb port works for other hardware.

any ideas?
