General Mach Discussion / Alternative to Smooth Stepper?
« on: September 01, 2009, 12:44:42 AM »
Hello All,

I want to use my laptop to run my mill.  And I know that many have had success with the Smooth Stepper board.  I need to be able to use the back lash comp with in the software.  Since the smooth stepper currently can not use this function, does anyone know of a similar board that does?.  Thank you in advance.

Jose.

General Mach Discussion / mpg counts/unit selection.
« on: February 21, 2009, 01:56:12 AM »
Hello All,

I would like to know if it is possible to set up my diy MPG so that I can change the counts/unit value via a switch.  Currently all I have hooked up is the encoder and one switch, which toggles between the different axis. I am hoping to add a knob w/ 3 positions which select 3 different counts/unit of movement.  If any one has any experience with this please share with me your thoughts.

Thank you in advance,

Jose.

General Mach Discussion / mpg encoder counts/unit.
« on: October 03, 2007, 02:19:32 AM »
Hello All,

I'm not sure if this is possible, but I would like to be able to chage the MPG counts/unit through an external input.  This way I can control how fast or slow the axis will move when controled whith an MPG.
Has any one  done somthing llke this?

General Mach Discussion / External LEDS
« on: October 01, 2007, 05:05:54 PM »
Hello All,

Does any one know how to light up an external led with Mach3?.  What I am trying to do is have 3 LEDs  on my home made MPG light up with the corresponding active axis.  I looked at the oem codes for the the LEDs on the Tab screen and figured out that they are 59 for the x axiis, 60 for the y axis, and 61 for the z.  This is as far as I can get.  I cant figure out how to relate these codes to an output signal.

Thanks,

Jose.

Hello All,

Can someone please help.  I am not sure what is wrong with my settings.  I just installed the most receint version of Mach3(verision .070).  When I jog either the x or y axis, the motors move a little then ramp down to a stop then ramp back up to full speed.
This also happens when I run a program.  If I disable the back lash the problem goes away.   Any Ideas?

Thanks,
Jose.

General Mach Discussion / Spindle Calibration Function?
« on: January 31, 2007, 12:55:13 AM »
Hello All,

I have tried to use the spindle calibration function and haven't had any success.  After I run the calibration, I  test the spindle and can't get the correct spindle speed.  Is there any one out there who has successfully used this function.  Your input will be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Jose

General Mach Discussion / joy stick control.
« on: October 23, 2006, 02:09:12 AM »
Hello All,

Last night it was playing with my RC flight simulator, when it struck me. Why not try to see if the Sim control would work with Mach3?
I tried it and it worked (Mostly). The right stick will jog the x and y axis, but the left stick won't do any thing.  Does any one Know how I might be able to configure the controller to  jog the z axis?

Thanks,
Jose.
