General Mach Discussion / Start in the middle
« on: January 10, 2020, 05:14:26 AM »
Good morning.
My CNC router shut down for some reason and after a trouble shooting, seems to be fine. I need to start the program from where it stopped at.
I have tried several methods from this form and other groups on FB....the result is my spindle slamming up or slamming down.
I would like to start where I left off, so k don't have to scrap the material and time already invested.
Any guidance is appreciated.
Running Mach 3 via USB/motion control.
China import machine
Thank you.

General Mach Discussion / CV settings for Router work
« on: June 04, 2019, 06:48:40 AM »
I'm still looking for help with the CV setting.
I was told by one individual that my setting should be ".5" , and currently I am set at 180.
That's a big difference, and nobody seems to be in the know about it.
I have an import machine with USB motion control.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

General Mach Discussion / Lines in finished Carve
« on: May 20, 2019, 02:48:07 PM »
I am still very new to Mach 3 and CNC router
I ran this carving today with a 1/16 tapered ball nose with a 6% step over 80 in per minute and I hope you can see the textured finish that It produced wondering if it is in the machine itself or a software issue? I will provide answers to questions about settings if needed.
TIA

General Mach Discussion / Z climbs during run
« on: April 28, 2019, 08:01:07 PM »
I am not sure of the lingo, so I will tell you what is happening.
I zero machine cords, load Gcode, zero x/y, probe my Z zero, regenerate toolpath, and hit go.
Carve starts in bottom left corner and goes CCW around the outside cutting 2d items. When it gets to top right it starts with some large vCarve words. Once the outside is carved, (all looks fine), then it carves some smaller shallow numbers and text in two columns on the inside field. The left column is mostly ok, but the right column is basically untouched by the bit.
Spoilboard and material are surfaced today.

General Mach Discussion / New guy frustration LOL
« on: April 02, 2019, 09:13:41 AM »
I am new to the forum new to CNC and new to mach3 so here I am.
I bought a machine and I am now trying to configure mach3 and I am moving along slowly and having troubles with my probe/ touch plate.
Right now I am looking for a new script that will enable me to use the touch plate. The one that I got from YouTube seemed to work but it would send my spindle 6in off the material surface and when I tried to run code it ran the code 6 in off the work surface. So I want to find a new script and see if that was the issue.
any and all help is appreciated and I will do my best to learn to navigate the forums as soon as possible thanks for your patience and help.
I am in the United States. Mid Michigan to be exact
