General Mach Discussion / Backlash Compensation has no effect

Hi,
  I am running Mach3 V03.043.044
My problem is with backlash compensation, when i add values in the compensation window for an axis they have absolutely no effect.
if i raise the value by 3x still no effect.
Can anyone advise please?
