Mach4 General Discussion / How to generate gcode to do pearling
« on: January 18, 2019, 01:37:58 PM »
I've seen this done on many different materials over the past 40 years or so.

I know I can manually create a gcode file to do this. Any suggestions on how to create some type of script that would create a gcode file of the patterns where the x, y, z are automatically generated based some inputs? Can it be done with Lua?

I have setup a Mach 4 profile with everything the way I want on old computer but now want to move that profile to a new computer that has a new license and deactivate the license the old computer. I want to be able to deactivate using the Mach4 License Manager from one to the other when needed. Basically, to be used as a backup system in case something goes wrong.

I can get everything to work except the Reference All Home, which just zeros out DROs where ever spindle is located. I also have a custom screen created that Bryanna suggested in on of her videos. PMDX works, Configuration looks the same on Home/Soft Limits, etc.

Not sure of the correct steps to do this and most of the references I have found refer to copying from Mach 3 to Mach4.

Any help appreciated.

I am setting up a DIY CNC router table using Mach 4 and soft limits. All the axes appear to be working correctly when jogging around the table and clicking on Goto Work Zero returns to the home position correctly.

However, when I run the roadrunner gcode file, I am getting the following error:

Error, Z axis commanded over SoftMaxError

What am I doing wrong? Please point me in the right direction on forum or docs so I can rtfm.  ;D

Attached is my current profile package.

Thanks in advance!
