Hello Brian
When importing a DXF drawing from autocad into mach3 turn is it possible to create a roughing tool path in mach3 or has this got to be added at the time of drawing.
cheers Gary

General Mach Discussion / help
« on: May 25, 2006, 04:07:15 PM »
Hello
Just downloaded the new version of mach3 with lcam, i,m using it on my newly built cnc lathe & am a newcomer to cnc work. I am able to import an autocad drawing in dxf & save in Gcode but when putting it in the auto screen the file is loaded vertical i,e it would be a facing profile rather than a turned spindle as drawn.
Also is there a part of lcam that will be able to work out the roughing cuts if the stock diameter is given.
thanks help Gary.

General Mach Discussion / DXF imports
« on: March 29, 2006, 02:27:26 PM »
Hello
Being new to this game I have downloaded Mach3 turn & on drawing a spindle on autocad & saving in DXF,importing to mach3 & then generating G-code the spindle appears to have no thickness. On the drawing it is approx19mm dia, but on the mach3 screen it seems to be around the centre line, is there a simple offset I can add to the g-code  or am I just talking silly.
thanks Gary.
