Has anyone looked into Tern controllers as a motion control solution? Any interest in creating a Mach plugin to work with Tern? They have some pretty interesting stuff. Their website is www.tern.com. They have a 4-axis expansion board here: http://www.tern.com/portal/content.asp?contentid=782. Would be nice to have an alternative to Gecko grex.

General Mach Discussion / Mach control pendant switches
« on: March 28, 2007, 03:11:51 PM »
What type of switches do I need to do things like turn on coolant, switch axes for my mpg, and turn on/off other things in Mach? Can I use momentary switches or do I have to use continuous/toggle switches?

PS- my setup is G100 & Mach 3

Mach3 and G-Rex / What is up with my Grex/mach setup?
« on: March 10, 2007, 02:07:05 AM »
When I run Grex-Loader I find the G100, but when I hit Launch Firmware Loader, it doesn't connect. I was able to the first time - when I updated the firmware, but after the firmware was submitted, it has never been able to go beyond the Find Gecko stage.

Here's what I did: Uunpacked my new G100, hooked up a crossover Enet cable, USB cable, installed USB drivers per the Dummies document, ran Grex-Loader, clicked Find Gecko, G100 found, changed IP & subnet, found again, followed dummies doc to the point where it asked to load second firmware. Blam... never could get to the Launch Firmware Loader again. PS - tried both crossover and going through a linksys router using regular Cat5e. Even tried a different computer. No change. Powered on/off, red light goes on for about 10 secs (I changed it when I could get into the G100). Then it goes out, no LEDs lit.

Any ideas?

Has anyone ever tried to interface a Pelco CCTV keyboard to Mach? This seems like it wouldd be perfect as a pendant controller. It speaks ASCII, uses RS422 (and RS232 I think) interfacing, and it's pretty well documented. Model is KBD300A

They show up on ebay often and are in heavy use in CCTV.
