I tried build in Lathe version.
I immediately noticed this problem on the DRO X wear offset.
it is no longer possible to enter the value directly.
plus this swings...

Mach4 General Discussion / First tests with Smooth Stepper and Mach4 2.500
« on: November 26, 2022, 04:18:11 PM »
Today I started testing new version of Mach4.
They are doing a great job, it is constantly evolving!
I go to the point.
Is it possible with the smooth stepper ethernet to use potentiometers or similar to control the feed?
is it possible to connect a MPG for axis movement?
thank you!

Hi, I'm using a translator.
Is there an M06 macro that uses the spindle nose as zero?
all subsequent tools will refer to that zero point and with G43 H... the correct measurement will always be obtained.
I use Mach4 on the lathe (with a CsLab)
now I would like to use it on the pantograph (with the Smooth Stepper ethernet).
on the mill I use Rosetta CNC, and I use that G43 H system ... with success.
if it can be useful I put the link to have at least an idea of what I would need.
I would like to use the same system also with Mach4.

Mach4 General Discussion / How to remember DRO and Fixtures in Mach4?
« on: November 18, 2022, 05:52:01 AM »
I'm using google translate, sorry for any mistakes.
How can I make Mach4 remember the last seen position in the DROs, the next time the program is reopened?
How can I save the fixture G54, G55 etc etc?
I asked this question, because sometimes the electricity goes out.
When this happens I lose fixture offset.

Mach4 General Discussion / G code to change rapid speeds
« on: December 15, 2021, 04:19:03 AM »
I have a third-party controller on which it is possible to change rapid speeds, I find it very convenient, if possible I would like to use a similar function with Mach4 too, is it possible?
I give example:
G103 V3000
the value of 3000 will be expressed in mm / min (I am European) and will be the maximum threshold.
being a G code it is modal.
to bring the axis speed back to the maximum it will be sufficient to write
G103 V0
thanks for any information.

Mach4 General Discussion / Mach3 script conversion into macros for Mach4
« on: September 29, 2021, 06:01:22 PM »
as the title suggests I would need to convert these scrips into macros for Mach4.
it is possible to do?
thanks in advance for help!

I use Mach4 Hobby with ESS, with regular license
The load demand on the PC's CPU is very high, despite the fact that the PC is powerful!
you can see it from the screenshots.

in this forum we often talk about SSE, which I currently use on the pantograph with Mach3 (it has always worked great!).
I use Mach4 on the lathe with CSMIO IP S (again super satisfied).
Since I like Mach4 a lot, I decided to use the Mill version on the pantograph as well, as SSE is fully supported.
I make a brief consideration.
I use the same computer for both the lathe and the pantograph.
Both being ethernet, I added a PCI ethernet card.
Obviously if I use the lathe the pantograph is off and vice versa.
I have been using this system for 3 years without ever having any problems.
let's get to the point.
I don't really like the SSE + Mach4 combination.
Unresponsive jogging movements, with a slight delay.
Even worse when running gcode, if you increase the Feed slide (especially in 3D files) the machine shoots very abruptly (with Mach3 the same g-codes work without problems).
I immediately asked myself this question, where am I wrong ??
I point out that I have the exact same motor configurations, pulses and parameters.
Thanks in advance for your answers.

Mach4 General Discussion / Change retraction value at cycle G73
« on: February 26, 2021, 06:04:46 PM »
Hi, as the title suggests I would like to know how to increase the feedback value in the G73 drilling cycle.
Cycle instructions on page 40 of the manual.
I ask this, because the deadlift is minimal, I would like to increase it slightly.
In Mach3 I operated on Mill Option.
How can I do with Mach4?

Mach4 General Discussion / How to make a tapered thread with Mach4?
« on: February 07, 2021, 12:52:57 PM »
Hi, I need to make a tapered thread with Mach4 Lathe hobby version.
I tried to execute instructions on the pdf, using the G32 and the K value.
but nothing happens, always straight.
where am i wrong?
do you have any examples?
thank you!
