General Mach Discussion / PC Crash (Mach3 folder)
« on: August 19, 2017, 03:13:52 PM »
My PC crashed.  I have the 2010 for my probe running through Mach3.  With the crash I have a backup of the mach3 folder.  Can I load Mach3 and 2010 screenset on the new PC, then delete the mach3 folder and past my old one to keep all my settings?

TIA

General Mach Discussion / Pocketing Problems
« on: August 21, 2016, 03:32:27 PM »
Well back again with more of the same problems.

After 2 weeks of replacing bearings , squaring up the machine and adjustments after my machine mysteriously went off the job dimensions and into my clamping system I finally have been running test pieces.

Thought I had everything pretty good.  I decided to try a Vcarve Inlay since I finally got them working after months before this collapse.

The machine just kept going around the same first pocketing cut , a complete loop from inside the vector but never moving outwards to take out/pocket more material.  It runs an initial loop and just keeps repeating over and over in the same pattern.

All my settings are the same, I did not mess with anything.  I looked at stepover and it is the same as always in which I have had success before.

I am using Aspire 8.5 and Mach3

Anyone ever have this problem before?

TIA

General Mach Discussion / Machine not centering again
« on: July 11, 2016, 09:35:07 PM »
My machine has just never worked correctly, it has always been problems.  I thought this was fixed but now I tried to do a cutout of a 5" by 3" rectangle in a piece of plywood and it is off center by .25" on the length and 3/16" on the width.  Everything is correct in Aspire and looks perfect.  All my measurements are perfect as well.

Any idea why this would all the sudden be off like this?

I just did a complete setup and cleaning of the machine do to other problems (inlays not working) finally after months got inlays working and now back to a simple cutout not centering.

Thanks for any help,

What needs to go here:

Code "G0 Z" &Retract+PlateThickness 'put the Z retract height you want here

My retract is 0.10"
My PlateThickness is 0.787402"

Thank you

General Mach Discussion / Wiring Z Zero Plate to BOB
« on: April 06, 2016, 02:31:47 PM »
Hi finally got my auto Z Plate but am lost on what to do...

I have a Romaxx WD-1 machine which has a couple pins left on the input 1 (these are for a MPG which I use a usb instead)

I was told I could use these ports for the touch plate.  It has a black and white wire, one for the plate one for the gator clip.  This is the standard Chinese ones sold everywhere.

I have:

Port 1 pin 13 A Channel
Port 1 pin 15 B Channel

Does a wire go into each of them?
Is there no need for a ground?

Thanks!

General Mach Discussion / Z Zero Offset for Touch Plate
« on: March 15, 2016, 10:59:02 PM »
I am looking to adding a touch plate for Z Zero.  Perhaps just one that lights up when the bit touches the metal and then having say .125" away from actual Z zero height.  How do I offset that .125" so that Mach3 accounts for it and goes to actual surfae Zero?

Thanks for any help,

I have looked around but I am getting a bit lost.  If there is an easy answer, thread or video it would be appreciated.

Also, if any one could recommended a simple to use/make/purchase touchplate  one it would be great.  I am looking to keep away from wiring the BOB.

General Mach Discussion / 3 Axis Machine Not Returning To Zero
« on: March 04, 2016, 03:23:56 PM »
My machine was running great for awhile (thanks to folks helping on here)

But now it a couple of times did not return to zero after a job. I noticed this once, then did an inlay (male and female) the pieces did not fit as they normally do but the machine did return to zero both pieces.  Then I did a sign and while the sign turned out , the machine did not return to zero after finished...

I am still very "green" with cnc machines and especially the major programming stuff...  Any clue what would cause this or how to tweak it back to when it was running perfect?

TIA

G-Code, CAD, and CAM discussions / Milling Is Off Center
« on: November 20, 2015, 03:35:28 AM »
Hi.. I am having a major problem with my machine.. I cut wood signs and use Vcarve with Mach3...

The Vcarve preview looks perfect, get it to the machine and zero out all the axis's and it always does not center to the work piece.. it runs off center by .25 possibly .5 sometimes...  It ruins every piece of work I do .. I just did a sign with a vcarve border then a .125 offset from the border where it cuts out the sign from the workpiece... The top is fine but the bottom cuts all the way into the vcarve outline and ruins the piece...

Romaxx says it's a programming problem and no one at Vcarve forums have an answer... Where could this problem be in Mach3?

Thanks for any help... I am new to cnc and this problem is ruining all my work...
