General Mach Discussion / MACH3 RAPID's: What determines the velocity?
« on: August 30, 2018, 04:29:30 PM »
So, having tuned my motors in Mach3 on my mill, whilst running a cut program, I noticed that my 'rapids' accelerate and move at a much higher velocity than the velocity I set in motor tuning.

Question: What dictates the speed of rapids? Is it some multiple of the velocity set for the axis? If so, what is that factor?

Hi.
First, I have Mach3 running on another machine I use for a CNC router. It works fine. I just bought a 'new/old' pc running XP and it is a 32 bit machine. I have downloaded Mach3 and it successfully loads, including the parallel driver. I have a product license in a zipped file; 6667 I think is what it's labeled. I have dropped the file into the Mach3 folder on my C: drive.

I fully expected Mach3, when opened, to say 'Licenced to....' but it still displays 'demo'. I have been through several iterations of loading and reloading Mach3, booting/restarting, including deleting the entire folder on the C: drive and starting from scratch- same thing...Says 'demo' and also says 'demo' in the HELP screen. I took the license from two different sources: 1) the working PC and 2) the original email I recived when I purchased it........Neither works on the 'New/Old' PC.

Am I doing something wrong here?
