General Mach Discussion / spindle reset button and + -

hello all.
finally got round to setting up my cpo-10v BOB from cnc4you today and linking to my 2.2kw VFD and spindle.
on the mach3 side of it I thought all was looking good. the spindle starts and stops and I can set a speed and it runs and gives the correct speed however, when I press the spindle reset button or try to increase or decrease the speed with the + or - arrows it automatically jumps to full speed.
I have checked the volts output and as soon as I press the reset spindle speed or + or - the volts jump straight to 10v, so this has to be a mach 3 problem and not my vfd.
anyone have any thoughts on the above
