CS-Lab / Version 066 versus 062...
« on: April 14, 2016, 01:00:07 AM »
Curious about a post I saw from Hood regarding bugs in build 066... I'm using that build and I have a two issues.

1.) Soft limits don't work! They don't work when jogging with my CS-Labs MPG pendant and they don't work on tool change! WTF???
2.) Safe Z ignores the fact I checked the "use machine coordinates" and only uses work coordinates!

Others?

Wondering if I should try 062... If I go back to 062 can I keep my settings (XML file)?

CS-Lab / CSMIO/IP-A plugin with win10 ok?
« on: November 28, 2015, 12:31:17 AM »
Microsoft nagware on the PC that runs my mill via Mach3 and CSMIO/IP-A keeps asking if I want windows 10... Any CSMIO folks done this? Other thought or concerns regarding Win10 in general?

Thanks!

CS-Lab / CSMIO IP-A with the CSMIO MPG and pendant kit...
« on: July 29, 2015, 09:01:12 PM »
Question for folks with this config... The CSMIO-MPG shows up in the plugin control-->CSMIO-IP_plugin-->Expansion Modules on CAN bus 32 as active. I have also enabled MPG1 in the mach3 “configure ports and pins” Encoder/MPG’s interface dialog. Problem is I cannot see the e-stop in the diagnostics tab in Mach3. I might also expect the e-stop to disable the "enable" output I am using but that too does not work. The docs for the MPG are very sparse... What am I missing?

CS-Lab / 500L Encoders, should I upgrade???
« on: May 23, 2015, 01:33:34 PM »
Hi Folks,

I am preparing to replace a Dynapath 10 control on my Tree J310 mill with the CSMIO/IP-A control. I'll be keeping the existing servo motors and servo amps. (Baldor BIG-MHO motors and Servo Dynamics 1525 amps)  I have two questions before I get started that I hope folks can help me with:

1.) Current encoders are 500L differential so 500 x 4 = 2k p/rev. CS-Labs offers upgrade encoders which seem reasonably priced. I think the current encoders are likely sufficient for all the work I do but I wonder if others may have first hand experience with 500L vs 2500L encoders offered from CS-Labs.

2.) I want to add an MPG pendant. The unit offered by CS-Labs looks solid and I like the fact that the e-stop on that unit is included. I also see MPG pendants that work through software with Mach and they are suspiciously inexpensive. My inclination is that the MPG connected directly to the machine control is a better design but I wonder if anyone has direct experience and can recommend an MPG.

Thanks!
