General Mach Discussion / torch goes out on own path
« on: March 11, 2016, 02:03:54 PM »
Hi everyone. Our CNC table does something funny. It only happens every so often. So here my partner nested qty. 6, 24" flanges. On the last one, in the middle of the outer diameter circle the torch decided it wanted to chart its own path. Any ideas where the issue could be hiding? Is it in mach or sheetcam? Any help is appreciated.

General Mach Discussion / ref Z axis
« on: August 02, 2015, 07:49:21 PM »
Am running a cnc plasma table and have a homing switch on the z axis. Was wondering if there was a way to have the z axis ref home and then come up from home at a set value? Any help is appreciated.

General Mach Discussion / plasma start/stop switch
« on: June 05, 2015, 03:37:38 PM »
Anyone got any advice on how to set up the plasma on/off switch in mach 3? Been tracing with the machine trying to figure out all the g-code and everything and really happy now. Went out and bought a hypertherm with the machine torch and now just need to setup so that the computer/controller can start and stop the arc. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance

General Mach Discussion / 620 in-oz motors not working
« on: May 05, 2015, 10:05:09 PM »
Anyone familiar with the 8 wire stepper motors? I am getting signal to my steppers from the driver, but the motors just hum and they stay locked. Not sure what my problem is.

General Mach Discussion / CNC will not jog
« on: April 29, 2015, 04:00:45 PM »
OK, so we bought this CNC kit. Came with table, motors, Gecko G540 controller, and trial version of Mach 3. Setup up everything, wired the motors, installed the mach3 and open xml file to connect with Gecko G540 and nothing. The motors hum as if there is something happening and they are locked, but cannot jog the unit with mach 3. Am i missing something with the setup? thanks
