General Mach Discussion / g41/g42 cutting circle at end of arc
« on: February 02, 2018, 04:19:32 PM »
When I try to use G41/G42 to cut a profile of a heart I am getting full circles at the end of arcs at the top of the heart lobes.  It apears to be at the end of the arcs. When I comment out the offending lines the profile cuts correctly.  If I change the sign of the arc center i value on a couple of the following lines the circle goes away but the tool path has a slight jog in it.

There must be something really simple here, but maybe I am too simple to see it. Attached are the file and the xml file of the machine.

No imoticon for tearing out hair, what little I have left.

I cannot figure out how to set the default tool path axis orientation in lathe mode so that I can see the x and z axis and when it regens that is the default view.  Right now my default regeneration view is Y and X axis with edge view(single line) of the Z axis. This is absolutely of no value.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

G-Code, CAD, and CAM discussions / G02 and G03 moving wrong direction
« on: March 04, 2015, 11:37:40 AM »
I am running Mach3 R3.043.066 in turn mode.  Using  a Mach3turn profile.  The program is generated in BobCAD V23 lathe using supplied Mach3turn post processor.

The arcs in both G02 and G03 are cutting in the opposite direction. The code is attached below.  These arcs are cutting from the  correct arc center they are just cutting the wrong direction.
Anyone had  this problem?

Warning. I have a reputation for eliciting computer output that defies any logical result of the input.  I have a vexing problem right now with my current project.

I am running a small lathe and am using  the Mach3 1024.lset screen.  I have version R3.043.066  Mach3. When I launch a profile from the Loader I randomly have either lathe tools or milling tools showing in the Tool Table Editor. Both tables show lathe tool inserts in the Tool column. I have tried several profiles from third party bob vendors and the problem seems to occur with all combinations of profiles and lathe screen sets I have tried.

Would appreciate any ideas on where to look for a solution.

Thanks,
