Mach4 General Discussion / Mach4 scaling using M51
« on: October 26, 2022, 12:08:49 AM »

Recently converted over to Mach 4 from Mach3

In Mach3, I frequently used the scaling features by simply typing in the scaling factor for the X,Y or Z axis.

In Mach4   I was introduced to M51 for scaling.

Has anybody automated this in the form of a “button/window“on the main screen?

Thanks for any help here.

Mach4 General Discussion / % axis movement in MACH4
« on: December 10, 2019, 12:25:28 PM »
In MACH 3, a part could be built smaller or larger than the designed part by changing the percentage of the axis movement.

How is this done in MACH 4?

ie, in MACH 3, a part could be built half size by changing X, Y, and Z  to 50%

Thanks,
Chuck

Mach4 General Discussion / MACH 4 screen contrast
« on: November 21, 2019, 05:22:30 PM »
How do I change the screen contrast? The default contrast within the demo version is such that I cannot see the toolpath. I can see the Go paths, but I cannot see any other G1.G2. etc paths.

Thanks,
 Chuck

Mach4 General Discussion / Mach4 demo "time out"
« on: November 21, 2019, 04:58:00 PM »
I have purchased MACH 4 but have not installed it yet. I am still poking around with the demo version first on my office computer before I install MACH4 on the machine in the shop

I read somewhere that a plugin can be installed that removes the "time out" Feature. could somebody tell me how to make this work?

Thanks,
Chuck

General Mach Discussion / Need help on MPG
« on: July 02, 2019, 12:55:29 AM »
I have 3 licensed version Of MACH3 On 3 different machines.

The first machine has a complete Machmotion controls upgrade That includes an MPG with axes and movement increment selector switches. It works great and I want to install the same type of MPG setup on the second machine.

For some reason on this second machine, I can't get the MPG to work.  The MPG Is being controlled Via an M36 board From CNC 4 PC.

My problem appears to be due to the fact that when I use the tab key To activate The fly out MPG panel, I cannot get The MPG yellow light to come on When I click The "jog mode" buttons. I can get the continuous and step Lights to come on but not the MPG.

The third machine does not have an MPG wheel, But With the tabbed out MPG panel, I can get All 3 Lights to come on when hitting the "jog mode" button, IE Continuous, step and MPG.

Does anyone know Why I cannot yet The MPG Light to work On the second machine?

Thanks,
Chuck

Post Processors / Laser postprocessor
« on: May 13, 2019, 09:45:39 AM »
I would like to Attach a postprocessor Written by Seth At Liberty machines, Inc

It can be used for laser, waterjet, or plasma

I tried the arc soft Plasma Postprocessor And it did not work for what I was doing. Seth agreed to write one and it works great.

I cannot attach it because it is a  .CPS file

Could somebody pls tell me where I can Get this post-processing File Recognized?

Thanks,
Chuck

General Mach Discussion / Mach3 laser
« on: November 28, 2018, 03:17:38 PM »
I am using Fusion 360 “Laser cutting” CAM options.

When I try to post process the normal MACH3 mill does not work properly.

After some researching found information that shows ARTSOFT
Has a Fusion 360 post processor for MACH3 Laser.

What does it take to get this postprocessor included in the Fusion 360 postprocessor list?

Thanks,
Chuck

General Mach Discussion / Setting up 4th axis
« on: April 29, 2017, 01:14:02 PM »
I am putting a fourth axis on my table top, deep groove, milling machine

It was working but I wanted to fine-tune the movement of the motor  and ended up changing something to the point where all the motor does now is vibrate when I try to move it.

I have tried everything I can think of but I cannot get the motor to rotate the way it did previously.

The motor is a pacific scientific.  5 V DC motor with 1.8° per step, 200 steps per revolution

Any ideas as to what I have inadvertently changed would be appreciated.

 Thanks, Chuck
