General Mach Discussion / 4th axis question
« on: December 05, 2016, 05:23:44 PM »
Hi

I am buying a rotary for my mach 3 controlled Heiz cnc machine and would like to know if it will also work on a laser cutter.

Laser cutter has Leeto controller and supports 4th axis

Rotary seller from ebay tells me rotary will not work on laser machine and to be honest I don't understand why as the stepper motor seems identical to the cnc machine's, I thought it would be just a question of getting the right plugs and setting the parameters straight.

Can someone please tell me if it's possible or not, I'd much rather have one rotary for both machines than having to buy one for each machine

Rotary is this http://www.ebay.com/itm/262236195547 sorry if linking not allowed.

Thank you.

General Mach Discussion / Area preview
« on: May 13, 2016, 10:38:19 AM »
Hello

I am sorry if this has already been answered but after searching I found nothing, so, can someone please tell me, is there a way in Mach 3 to preview the XY area that job is going to take ?

I mean physically make the machine go around the job boundaries

I also have a laser cutter and it can be done with it and it is a nice feature, is it possible also with mach 3 ?

Thank you

Bruno

General Mach Discussion / Mach 3 Laser config
« on: November 13, 2014, 08:29:46 AM »
Reposting here hoping somone can help me

Hi

I have a problem with the configuration of mach 3 and laser.

CNC Machine is a heiz 720T, this http://goo.gl/z2THoM laser kit is from J Tech Photonics using latest version of mach 3

I have managed to get it working with the db25 dual breakout board connecting pin 17 and 25 to laser board and making output to #3 and M3 Command on mach and creating a new profile in mach 3 for laser

My doubts are :

How can I stop the Z axis from moving without disabling it in ports config in mach 3 ?

After testing the laser I notice that it is burning too much especially near the edges of the drawing is there some setting to correct this ? I have tried to increase height and speed but problem remains.

Can someone please help me ?

Thank you
