General Mach Discussion / Machine goes crazy following tool path,
« on: November 29, 2014, 07:57:41 AM »
While following tool path, periodically, the z axis just bores into the project, through the 3/4" material and into the sacrificial surface.  Yesterday, it was on a toolpath where the depth was set at 1/4" and it goes as much as 1" deeper.  I can run the same toolpath later and nothing happens.  I can't figure it out, and it has ruined several projects doing this.  John Lindsay

Ok, I bought the Mach 3 software, and decided to try the circle wizard.  Now, no matter what gcode I load, it starts with a circle, and just keeps going.  then stalls out when the circle completes.  What nifty little solution is there for this?

Thanks, John

I have built a Joes Evo machine with some minor modifications, using Joes plates.  In Mach 3 I have the Left side as the Y axis and the opposite side, as the A (slave) axis.  If just the Y is engaged, it works fine, although not as stable as if the two were running in concert. In a similar vein, the z axis seems to be going up when it should be going down.  (running the open sign path from vcarve)  Everything that has been a major crisis initially so far has turned out to be a simple fix,   I have read and re-read the Mach 3 manual and all of the other materials I have, and this one has me puzzled.  I am sure I am missing something.

I have Mach 3,   Joes Plates, velox 10:1 z slide with drop plate, CNCRP nema 23 kit, gecko 540.    I haven't put alot of time into the ESS from Warp9, figured I would incorporate that later, as things seem to be progressing nicely without it.
Thanks, John

I dusted off an old xp machine to run my cnc router.  When I installed the mach 3 software, it installed ok, but I cannot get the reset button onscreen to shut off, so I cant do anything else.  Any advice?

Thanks, John
