G-Code, CAD, and CAM discussions / 5 axis CAM using Grasshopper for Rhino.
« on: September 20, 2014, 03:12:57 PM »
Hi everyone,

I am developing a free open source 5 axis CAM script using Grasshopper for Rhino. Its a very early versions but I had some success using it.

I originally started developing a desktop 5 axis machine which now turned in to a project I am launching on Kickstarter on 22nd September (I created another post about the machine in "show and tell" section of the forum), but I could not find a cam solution that I could afford.

I want to share it with anyone interested in affordable 5axis machining. I plan to continue to develop it and adding features to it, but meanwhile if anyone is interested in it, its possible to download current version of the scrip and a small manual that explains how different features of the script work here.

I would appreciate any comments or questions from members.

Hi everyone,

We have been working on a 5 axis desktop machine with a large working volume and capability to use different tool heads: from milling spindle to 3d printing head to touch probe.

We are launching a Kickstarter campaign on September 22nd to fund the last stage of development.
If you are interested in this project please take a look at our video and website.

This machine uses Mach3 controller and we are developing a CAM script in Grasshopper that works on Rhino. The script is free and open source you can download current version from our website ( you need both Rhino3d and Grasshopper to run it ).

We would appreciate any comments or questions from the community.
