General Mach Discussion / Transfer from reseller ?
« on: September 27, 2016, 07:51:02 PM »
Hello I had purchased Mach4 through a reseller and have to contact them anytime i update my computer and wait for them to reply (I've been using old computers and upgrade anytime I can I'm on my third one in two years). Is there a way to transfer me directly to Newfangled Solutions so I can manage my own PCID's as i do with Darwin Parallel port licence, If I knew it were like this I would have bought my licence directly through Newfangled Solutions no disrespect to any resellers everyone has to make a living.

Mach4 General Discussion / Randomly Stalling
« on: March 27, 2015, 09:24:49 AM »
My router has been making me and my daughters parts very well and about three days ago it started randomly stalling in all three axis at any speed i have it capped at 300ipm for rapids. At 1st I thought it was a wiring issue so I went through all the wiring ( a nice thing about building it was I knew each wire and where it goes) I checked them with a voltage meter and twisted them back and forth and found all wires in good condition. I then took a shot in the dark and re installed Mach4 from 2238 to 2270 which seemed to help I was able to rapid around with no issues but the next day it started to do it again stalling randomly loosing steppes making the rrrrrr sound but I did notice that it never stalls when i hit the home button even though i get the stalling in any direction at any speed fast or slow when jogging or running a test program so i matched the homing speed witch is 61 ipm jogged around and it still dose it but never when I hit the Home button I did this ten times in a row jogging full travel then homing it it would randomly stall in xyz going to my limits and back it would do it but never stall when i hit the Homing button--- :-\ any hints would be great

Mach4 General Discussion / Lights out machining
« on: March 08, 2015, 08:53:47 PM »
What's everybody doing for light out machining? I was wondering if it would be wise to set my main power for my Gecko g540 on a SSR and call out M2 with a count down at the end so that on program's that run untended my machine will power itself down. Any thoughts?

Thanks for your time.

Mach4 General Discussion / Mach4 cw button question
« on: February 28, 2015, 10:48:43 AM »
Can someone help me with a dumb question in Mach4 with spindle cw I have my router set up on a ssr to pin 17 and im using Darwin to control Gecko G540 it all works as it should if i manually hit the spindle cw button in Mach4 it turns on and off as it should, but if i call up a M03 it doesn't work. I can call a M03 in MDI and the history says single sent to pin 17 but no happiness. But if I go and manually hit the spindle cw button in Mach4 it works. I've been reading the forums in Mach4 spindle search but can't figure it out.

Thanks for your time.

Hello
I'm wanting to install five different 3d printer heads on my cnc each to have a different color, I want to use my gecko g540 A axis witch is no problem but i need to have a switch to switch between the five different steppers all controlled by axis A. So can anyone point me in the right direction. I should be able to figure out the Mach4 side of it but the actual switch is stumping me. Thanks for your time

Tangent Corner / Motor question
« on: December 21, 2014, 07:47:52 PM »
I would like some help I'm no electrician I've only wired houses and normal stuff so when it comes to electronics I'm lost. So anyways our front loader washer machine died last week the aluminum bracket corroded away that holds the tub so after a lot of research we got a Speed Queen very well built washer. I tore into the old washer and found a motor rated for 17500 rpm and controllable rpm i think and i want to use it. Does any body know how to control this I have three blue wires and don't have a clue ware to start

These are the only three wires from the control board

Show"N"Tell ( Your Machines) / First Build Jos 2006r2 with some mods
« on: December 02, 2014, 08:36:34 PM »
Hello last winter I started building a Jos 2006R2 for my first cnc build. I've got back to work on my project again because its winter again :(  I just got done ordering the Gecko G540 3 Nema23 Steppers 620 oz/in with Mach3 included I just got done dealing with the seller and now an going with Mach4 upgrade. I'm also bought Antek PS-4N48 - 400W 48V Power Supply. Also the three 1610 Ball screws and 16MM Bearing Block linear slide guides 2 rail+4 SBR16UU for the Z axis and nema 23 mounts brackets. Expensive evening. I used turned ground and polished 1045 shafting instead of black pipe for a smoother run. I also milled up solid bearing carriers it was a lot of drilling and tapping and grinding but it was good fun.
