General Mach Discussion / minimum PC requirements for Mach3
« on: October 17, 2009, 03:47:29 AM »
Is there a list of required windows components that are required by Mach3?  I know about the optimization list but would like to go all the way with Nlite and make a 'perfect' XP or 2000 installation that will give maximum performance on my 'old' hardware.

Now what?  I know I need to get a 100 pin SCSI cable and a break out board. What other 'fun' do I have in store??

General Mach Discussion / Is G84 supported in Mach3?
« on: October 07, 2009, 06:12:17 PM »
Yes I have used the search function and read all of the posts I found and I have searched the MachMill manual and noticed the G84 section is greyed out.  So my question is Mach capable of rigid tapping if the mill is capable?
Thanks

I have searched the manual but I can't find any information regarding clockwise/counterclockwise signals.  I have access to many 5 phase Vexta motors and drives for free that I would like to use on my mini router I am working on.  These drives want clockwise/counterclockwise and a pulse to operate.

General Mach Discussion / Best way to convert step and direction to +/-10V
« on: September 03, 2009, 04:31:43 PM »
In my mill conversion I need +/-10V to run my servo drives.  I was going to use the pixie boards that were made for doing this but they are no longer available.  What other options do I have?

Tutorials / G-Rex setup guide for new users
« on: April 03, 2006, 02:23:00 AM »
After spending many many hours trying to get the G-Rex and my PC to talk (I read the manuals over and over) I gave up  >:( and called Mariss and emailed Art. This is what I did today to get it all working. ;D
Hope it can help another new user.

Mach3 and G-Rex / MPG's and the G-rex
« on: March 03, 2006, 03:15:39 PM »
I am converting a Bridgeport Boss 5 to servo's and Machx.  I want to use separate MPG's to contol each axis (instead of one MPG and a selector switch.)
Can I use the encoder inputs (the A,B and C axis) on the G-rex to accept MPG inputs?
If so it also looks like the G-rex can be run in autonomous mode and be controlled with the MPG's to make a pseudo manual mill.
