General Mach Discussion / 3D digital probing
« on: September 01, 2013, 07:19:05 PM »
What is the best option for 3D digital probing? I have my new probe but can not get the original 3D probing plugin to work with the new version of Mach3. It makes a couple of moves and I get an error message "Previous SEQ Not Yet Complete"
I have also trying using the Big-Tex screen and it moves a little and stops. I have the probe set up right and the diagnostic screen says it works when tripped, I am stumped. Is there a better plugin?

If anyone is interested here is how to have a remote DRO display using a USB powered LCD.
First buy a USB LCD driver kit from http://www.gravitech.us/sechlcddrbok1.html
And an LCD display http://www.gravitech.us/20chyelcdwib.html
After making and testing  the kit go into windows divice manager and find out what port it is on, it will be listed under ports  and say USB serial port with the number.
Than go into Mach3 General config. setting and set the com port on the lower left corner and check Run Macropump box. See picture below.
Copy and paste the Macropump file attached here to the macro folder in Profile folder you are using.
All done, now you have a USB display of your DRO`s

General Mach Discussion / Remote readout
« on: May 20, 2011, 01:12:16 PM »
Hi All, I have been searching for a pendant and have finally bought one. during the process I saw the ones with the LCD read out and thought it was a good idea but I really don't want it on the pendant but mounted in a box and mounted above the mill. So my question is how would I build a remote LCD for the DRO`s ? Is there a kit or instructions on how to build one?? Thanks for any help you can throw my way.

General Mach Discussion / False limit trip
« on: February 03, 2011, 09:29:28 AM »
I am battling a long standing problem with getting false limit trips. I am running a G540 and changed all my limit switch cable to mil spec shielded cable yet I still get false trips.
I have tried setting de bounce form 10 to 6000 and it still does it. It usually occurs at high RPM or under high load. Any thoughts??????

Newfangled Solutions Mach3 Wizards / need help
« on: August 18, 2010, 04:42:59 PM »
Hi, I have been using NSW for some time but never had to combine actions before. I need to pocket a square 1/2" deep and then start a round pocket at the bottom of that one. When I try to add the round pocket there is no option to start the cut at Z-.5, so I waste a lot of time cutting through 1/2" of air. Am I missing something? Maybe a setting I did not see?  ???

General Mach Discussion / Help with 4th axis
« on: August 05, 2010, 03:59:41 PM »
OK I am very limited in my knowledge here so bear with me. I just setup a Sherline rotary table on my Taig mill with my G540 controller. I have it setup right and it works fine the trouble I am having is understanding how to use it. I downloaded CNCWraper and tried some simple text on a bar of aluminum but it wants to put the 0 position in the middle of the part. Not just the center of the A axis but in the center of the X axis as well? Where do I set the cutter as the home position? I am not sure what I am doing wrong or right for that matter. Is there somewhere I can find the dummies guide to using a rotary axis? Also I do not wright G-code, I rely on cam programs. I have Dolphin CAD/CAM and Lazy Cam.  ???

Will SS work ok on a lap top with no parallel port and integrated graphics?
And do you still run the Mach 3 parallel port driver?

I just got the Pro version and tried the pocketing. For some reason it reverses it path at the same depth before it goes to the next depth cut. It's like cutting the whole thing twice. What am I doing wrong???
