FAQs / guide to wiring a new machine
« on: May 06, 2013, 03:51:38 PM »
Hi,
I am the electrician setting up a Mach3 with apollo1 breakout.
I have emailed MachMotion many times, asking for a generic setup, all to little avail.
I have decided to make:
x1 x-home
x2 y-home
x3 z-home
all my limits in series ie x+ to x- to y+ to y- to z+ to z- all to x4
then my contactor thermal overloads in series to x5
my only possibly beneficial response from MacMotion was that the x0 may be internally connected to the Modbus RJ45 sockets for the variable speed drives to the motors, so I have left x0 vacant for "drive error".
I have a four speed gearbox, so I can use two cam switches to give 4 states, ie 00 01 10 11 so that is my x6 and x7
leaving me x8 for safety/guard interlocks.
Any problems with this so far?
