G-Code, CAD, and CAM discussions / Simple M6 Manual Tool Change
« on: April 28, 2013, 11:19:41 PM »
Hi ,

As i am pretty Green with all the CNC and the learning process is in progress I have been doing some simple drawings and GCode in cambam but I am a bit stuck on how to program in a tool change . At present I just want the machine to go to a XYZ cord which I will have to stop the spindle manually as I have not put in the auto control board as yet .

Then do a zero on the new tool and go back and continue the job , after re- zero on the tool.

I take it by changing the tool in CamBam this will automatically set the command for a M6 tool change in Mach3?

General Mach Discussion / 4th Axis and Machine Coord Always Red
« on: April 27, 2013, 02:21:36 AM »
Hi All,

I have been setting up my machine with home and soft limits , after I hit " Ref All Home " the X Y Z all 0 and go green as shown in the tutorial Vids , but because the 4th axis does not home then I do not get a Green LED on the" Mach Coord" button . It may be trivial and I have gone over the vids and the manual a few times to try to get all Green as shown in the Vid on homing and limits.

Is there a way of over riding or tricking the 4th Axis to Referance if it not being used and has no limit switches, or am I just being pedantic .

I also take it that each time you start the machine" Ref All Home " needs to be done to get the LEDs Green?

I have searched for related topics and threads , but did not find much ...

Hi All ,

This is my first post here and I hope this is the right forum section for this , I am just finishing on my first CNC Router/mill and going through the process of getting everything setup and I have been having trouble with what I suspect is EMF while the spindle is running , I have done a search and it appears to come up blank .

First , I wired all the limits to be NC but as soon as the spindle started limits would be active , and not able to reset . If the spindle ( 1.5Kw Chinese water Cooled VFD ) is not running then all axis moved and limits work as they should .

I then changed the the limit switches over to NO and the spindle does not affect movement , but when a limit is hit it is not able to be reset until the spindle stops .

just wondering if any one else has had the same trouble or knows of a previous thread ,
