General Mach Discussion / IDLE LIGHT IN DIAGNOSTIC PAGE
« on: July 08, 2014, 01:03:43 PM »
Hi
I have been away ( car accident not hurt just a loss of $$$ ) so just started back with my machine.
I have all my settings as right as can be, and all was well till a week ago.
Now my motors will not run in PC MODE, as I also have a hand held and can switch to that, and all works.
No other light on IN THE DIAGNOSTIC PAGE except metric and I set it up for English,
the idle light and, run when I load GCODE
Is the idle controlled by a switch.
Is this why my motors will not run ???
I have no E STOP LIGHT and can reset to a green no problem

General Mach Discussion / Power outage in the middle of a job
« on: June 02, 2013, 09:35:06 AM »
Curious
I live in Canada up North on and Island and on and off in the winter we can get a power outage.
Being a computer tech for 15 years I use a UPS BATTERY BACK UP on my
my computers and for those that do not know what it is.
It is a power box that supplies enough power to my computer for at least 15 minutes,
so I get a chance to save my work.
Being new to this forum and CNC I'm curious of this situation.
I now have my computer and Milling machine plugged in a power bar that  feeds
from my UPS BACKUP if the power goes out.
=============================
Who has experienced a power outage will milling, and has this caused you to
start all over again, because you may have lost a few steps as the power went out.
Or when the power comes back on the work continues without a screw up ???
Thank you,

General Mach Discussion / Motor tunning
« on: May 31, 2013, 09:43:44 AM »
When you set up your motor tuning.
If you want to increase the feed of the motor in the X, Y, Z, Axis
Can you do this in the config, motor tuning,  leaving the steps per as is,
and changing the  the velocity and acceleration.
I have not tried it yet, but I'm assuming the steps per stay was originally setup
is this correct?
Thank you

Since I setup my machine last night and did a few test's
See previous pictures.
I tried another test this morning.
First time using V carve.
Setup the drawing in inches
Drew 4 circles from center out  total 4" diameter.
Created a DFX turned it into a c-code. ETC
Work good since I'm still learning.
Nice to see the display path and DRO'S as machine moves and work cutting,
and follow the g-code
Drew circles around the Road runner from a previous test
when testing my machine
Hope this helps some one get excited to try experiments.

General Mach Discussion / lLearning curve a few pictures
« on: May 31, 2013, 12:46:17 AM »
Posting this for those that are interested in a doing an example to learn and practice.
I just got some what of the hang of this 2 days ago with the help of ,
Chaoticone forum member administrator while trying to solve another issue.
==================================================
I used the MDI commands to do these cuts on my work table to experience the machine and Mach software.
I set the table bed up in inches. Each square 1 inch X and Y after we got the motor tuning right.
I went ahead and made the checker board design on my work table test platform.
Then decided to go Diagonal both ways.
One screw up, as I for got to set it all back to Zero on one cut.
You can see where I went over the line at the bottom.
Hope this helps some one to experiment.
Hands on trial and error is the key to learning

General Mach Discussion / KEY BOARD UP AND DOWN LEFT RIGHT ARROWS
« on: May 26, 2013, 04:58:28 AM »
When I move the left and right arrows on the key board to check my
motor tuning they go in reverse of the way my machine is set up ??
Also these move the X and Y axis.
How do you check the Z access with the key board or what ever.??

General Mach Discussion / how was te road runner created ?
« on: May 25, 2013, 08:54:49 PM »
First
Can some one tell me how the road runner was created.
I finally cut the road runner.
==========================
So my machine is working.
As for me I'm still lost.
But I did cut the road runner.
===================================
For me to change the cut size of the road runner I have to change
the motor tuning section.
Is this the way it  is done.
I went from 320 then up to 2000 then up to 5000.
three different cuts.
If I knew how the road runner was created I would be able to get a better handle on this stuff
Thank you

General Mach Discussion / SIZE
« on: May 19, 2013, 08:55:42 AM »
I was using Vcarve to import a picture in and make a vector
turn it into a dfx to import into Mach3.
Using Mach3 to import the dfx vector saved from Vcarve.
Then I created  a gcode. in Mach
I did all that it created a gcode which ran.
Except the size was way off from the size I created in Vcarve.
I'm still learning the in's and outs of this.
Only finally got Mach3 to recognize my machine and computer
to let Mach recognize my machine and visa versa,
only 2 days ago.
I have a long way to go.
So bear with me as I struggle to learn it.
I work in inches Mach is config in inches.
Quick question is, in case I switched from metric to inches after I set MACH
to metric in the original config. which I do not think I did.
The vid said not to do it but it can be done.
How does one do it before I reload Mach and start and config again.??
Thank you

General Mach Discussion / MACH3 ROAD RUNNER ACTUAL SIZE
« on: May 16, 2013, 07:53:06 AM »
First and for most.
Thank you for lifting the ban.
An apology to who ever and what ever it was for the misunderstanding,
that caused the ban.
==============================
I just got my machine and Mach3 to finally work together.
After hours of motor tuning and homing limits etc.
I cut the road runner last night on plexiglass.
=======================================
I would like to know what is the actual size of the road runner,
inches or MM so I can get an idea of what is going on.
Can some one please tell me how you can see the outside dimensions
in the GCODE of the perimeter or size of this cut.
Thank you

General Mach Discussion / JY5300 AND JY800W AND MACH3
« on: April 27, 2013, 09:40:01 AM »
Does anyone have a CNC milling machine combo made by MIB
I HAVE A 4 AXIS MILLING MACHINE with JY5300 machine controller and  JY800 power supply speed controller
Spindle motor is 800w and 24000 max rpm water cooled
I had a A>AXIS CARD BURN OUT AND Z> AXIS CARD BURN OUT.
ALL STEPPER MOTORS WORK ON ALL AXIS BY USING THE Y > AXIS CARD TO TEST WITH
using the hand held no PC mode
I'm trying to get the spindle motor to run using MACH3 software loading G-code roadrunner.
I'm total stuck can not get the emergency :-\ reset to stop flashing.
i setup the config part.
i have the MACH3 MANUAL INFO for set up still cannot run the code
HELP PLEASE
