General Mach Discussion / Mach 3 Help...anyone live in Tucson, Arizona?
« on: August 23, 2013, 03:19:23 PM »
I was curious if anyone lived in Tucson, Arizona and knew a lot about Mach 3?
I could really use some help about using it to carve into wood.
I got it to work, but really need an expert to help "fine-tune" it.
Willing to pay.
Thanks,
Darrin

I'm new to CNC machine and also Mach 3.  I was running my first wood carving, and the Status window of Mach 3 says..."Too Fast For Pulley...using Max".
Does anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks,
Darrin

No matter what I do, I can't get the CNC machine to carve larger then 1/2" by 1/2".
I even tried the samples that came with PhotoVCarve and also Mach 3.
I sent the file to the company that makes the PhotovCarve, and they said it is fine,
that it must be some settings in my Mach 3.  Any information would be greatly
appreciated.

Hello.  I just bought a CNC machine (6040Z+S80), with Mach 3.
I have Vista windows in my desk top computer.
My "Y" motor runs once in a while for a few seconds, and then stops.
I've tested the motor and wires and they seem to be fine.
The company that I bought the CNC from says I must have messed up the settings somewhere.

The 2nd problem is that I tried to run the sample project labeled "roadrunner" and only 999 lines
out of the 4,470 line of G-code ran.  The same company said I must have messed up the settings somewhere.
Can anyone help me?
I would love to take a class on Mach 3 and CNC machines ....or find someone that could Tutor me on it.

LazyCam (Beta) / Can't get LazyCam to write the G-code
« on: March 15, 2013, 07:38:04 PM »
Hello,
First time CNC user.  I went on WWW.machsupport.com and found the user's manual (A user's guide to installation, configuration, and operation),
I read it, and got to Chapter 8.4.5..."Writing The G-code file".  So I loaded my picture (jpg format), the picture shows up in Lazy Cam.  It gives me the choices
...V-drill, raster xy, etc...I choose raster xy.  Goes to the next screen...image size, depth, step over etc...I click ok.
Then the picture disappears, and several lines appear.  The Manual says that I should have gotten a screen that has the button on it "convert"....I never found any button
that said "convert".  Can you please help me?  Is there a good video out there that shows from step one to the end on how to take a picture and put it into Mach 3 as code?
Thanks
