General Mach Discussion / Problems saving Gcode from write wizard
« on: December 28, 2015, 01:06:21 PM »
Hello all.  I have been using Mach 3 for a few years, and thankfully had very few problems.  Pretty much all of the programs I wrote for machining and engraving I have been running for 2 years.  Recently, I started a new part and am having a problem.

When I create an engraving code using the write wizard, it generates fine.   I run a test run and everything works.  However, after I save the code, close Mach 3, and restart it, I get problems when I try to run the same code.  The engraving starts out fine, but then starts going in big circles.

Today, I created code for 1 word as a test.  Everything was fine.  Ran the code, worked fine. Saved the file.   Printed a copy of it.  Closed mach 3, then restarted.  Opened the same file and got the first few letters before it started going in big circles.  I printed a copy of this code. I closed that code, and created a new file using the wizard.  It ran fine.  I then compared the new file to the 2 printed copies and all 3 were exactly the same.

Any ideas?  I have a licensed copy if that makes a difference.

General Mach Discussion / G-Code from image file
« on: June 06, 2013, 05:34:21 PM »
Is there anyone out there that would be willing to convert a logo for me?  I have a logo that I would like to engrave.  It is currently in jpeg and I would like a g-code file.  I am running mach3.  I can email the logo image file and size specifics.  I would be glad to pay a fair price for the service.  I have been unsuccessful finding a free trace program on the net.  I tried mesh cam but it did a poor job and is really designed for 3D.  The rep from mesh cam recommended inkscape but apparently their site is having problems.  At least, that's the message I got when I tried to download.

General Mach Discussion / Need Help with Relays
« on: March 02, 2013, 06:11:51 PM »
I have searched and read for hours, but can't find a solution to my problem.  Hopefully someone can help.

I am new to CNC and everything has been going good.  I recently decided to utilize 2 SSR's to control my spindle and flood coolant.  I only want to turn the spindle on and off, not control the speed.

I wired the relays according to several diagrams I found.  Using a 12V battery, they function as they should.

I have a camtronics box with 2 relay outputs connected to pins 16 and 17.

I have configured everything and can toggle the spindle/coolant outputs and get 5 volts.

Now the problem.  Even though the relays are rated to trip as low as 3V, they are not tripping with 5V.  Connect them to a 12V battery and they trip like they should.

Is there a way to increase the output voltage of these pins?
