General Mach Discussion / Loosing control application error
« on: April 18, 2014, 01:23:34 PM »
Hi All,
I have to come back again to the forum, because my router is acting up after a winter shut down. Everything worked fine after last year's change over to the Ethernet  Smooth Stepper.
Now, when I'm running a job and have to stop, by clicking on the red stop button, I get this error message: Loosing control Application Error. The instruction at "0x3a303030 referenced memory at 0x3a30303" The memory couldn't be read. Click OK to terminate program.
When I try to restart Mach I get this error: CTftp:: Wake up client board doesn't reply.  Also sometimes when I click on the Feed hold button the spindle stops running.
Is it Mach3 or the Smooth Stepper that creates this problem?
Appreciate any help I can get.

General Mach Discussion / can't see Mach driver in device manager
« on: August 24, 2013, 09:38:22 AM »
Hi,
I don't think my Mach3 R 3.043.057 is working right. I don't see the Mach driver in the Device manager for one. Using the ESS Smooth stepper v10n1db1b. Here is what's not working right at the moment. Get all sorts of status messages, very annoying. never had them before. Work offsets not saved. Mdi-ing speed commands work, but not the axis moves. On fly out MPG Step function doesn't work. By the way, I'm using an MPG2 pendant, that also gives error massages. I like to download the newer Drivers Test.exe, can't find it anywhere,

Hi All,
Is anyone using the Bob Campbell's combo break out board with an Ethernet smooth stepper? Can a VFD be controlled thru this board?

General Mach Discussion / MDI-ing work offset
« on: August 21, 2013, 02:56:27 PM »
Hi You All,
Well, so far so good on the spindle staring when Mach is closed. It doesn't do that any more. Keeping my fingers crossed. The issue now is with MDI-ing G54 G90 G00 G21 X0 Y0, the machine doesn't move.  I can MDI spindle start and stop, didn't try anything else, only moving to set zero by MDI. Can someone tell me what parameter I missed.

General Mach Discussion / Can a Brain disable a rough spindle start
« on: August 20, 2013, 03:19:07 PM »
Hello Moderators,
I have an issue with my spindle starting to spin when Mach is closed. I had this problem reported in a previous post, but nobody came up with a solution for it. I was looking at a video on brains. Something is triggering the spindle rely when I close mach, and when I reopen Mach the spindle stops. Is it possible for one of you Gents to make a short brain to stop mach doing that? I have the ESS plugged into CNC4PC's C25 BOB. This BOB has nothing on it just terminals. I wonder, should I buy a better BOB, and spindle control board?

General Mach Discussion / Fixture offsets not saved
« on: August 18, 2013, 10:35:31 AM »
Hi,
I installed Mach R3.043.057 and for some reason it doesn't save the work offsets. When closing Mach, it ask if I want to save the fixture offsets, I say yes to it. But when I start up again the offset values are not there on the Offset page ether. I had the same issue with 3 other versions of mach. I'm using the ESS board. Any ideas?

General Mach Discussion / MPG2 problems
« on: August 16, 2013, 03:24:02 PM »
Hello All,
Can someone tell me the settings for this MPG? Well it worked, sort of before I switched to a different version of mach. Had to do the configuration from a scratch. When I open the fly out virtual Mpg and try to move in the X, I get this message: No zeroing while running.  When I select the Y, than it gives this message: Nothing to feedhold. On selecting the Z and 4th, no status message. Also, if there is a G code program open, touching anything on the pendant, it starts the program, or runs away. This is maddening. Is there a newer Brain out there? I think the one I was told to use is about 10 years old.

How canI get the fly out Mpg to stay in the right hand side of the screen after I move it there? The next time I need it it I have to move it again.

General Mach Discussion / Job timer doesn't work

I changed to Mach3 version R3.043.066. Now the Elapsed (cycle time) timer doesn't work. Any thoughts?
