I am in the middle of another upgrade on my cnc machine.  I was reading and downloaded a list of the OEM codes.  What I am trying to do is create a hmi interface (handheld) to use at the table, like a pendant.  I have a small Cmore screen that is Ethernet controllable and saw there is a TCP modus setup within MAch3.    What I am wanting to do is put all the buttons I need on a screen and bring it to the table, the normal stuff.  How would I go about setting up?  Does anyone know.  My screen is modus compliant so that would work, I guess I am wandering if I will need to do a VB script also or just be able to trigger a button and it allow function.  Thanks.

General Mach Discussion / Has anyone used a Cmore touchscreen with Mach3
« on: September 17, 2014, 02:44:29 PM »
I was wandering if anyone has used a Cmore touchscreen with mach3 cnc.  I am trying to make a remote terminal on my table cnc to be able to move axis's, tool zero, laser on/off, vacuum table zones and ect.  I really would like to use it if I can.  I think it would be pretty cool if I could.  I then could add a physical Estop.  The part number is EA7-S6M. This screen does have a Serial PLC Port: RS-232/422/485 15-Pin D-sub (female) and ethernet.  Here is the info on screen.  http://www.automationdirect.com/static/specs/ea7s6mr.pdf

Thank you in advance if any one has any knowledge on this......

General Mach Discussion / Pc recommendations for Mach3
« on: May 05, 2014, 09:08:33 AM »
I have an old dell that I am using but seems to bog down in communications sometimes.  Only have Mach3 and Vcarve Pro on it.  Does anyone have a recommendation for a new computer that is reliable and that has a parallel port on it of pci to accepted one.  Just wanted to see what others are running.

Thanks
Brooks

Modbus / Problems with Modbus TCP
« on: August 25, 2013, 08:28:31 AM »
I have been diligently trying to get my modbus tcp to talk between mach3 to my Emerson Sk commander drive.  I called and talked to a tech about this drive and he sent me a file and told me to use it, but he was not familiar with Mach3 but thought it most likely would work.  I set up the drives parameters and ip address and can communicate to the web url with the drive.  I can see al the parameters and know its working via IP.  I then went to Mach3 and tried setting up the Modbus tcp screen. I inputted te information the way I thought it needed to be.  I opened connection and it was successful.  When I go to test starting address I kinda get confused.

Heres the email the tech sent me.  A one liner

With Modbus TCP/IP one simply writes to Parameter #6.42 (as #40642) and #1.21 (as #40121) for control via an Ethernet link.

This is a paragraph out of application I found online using a sk commander.

These are the parameters that we will use for controlling the drive from the network.

The four parameters that we want to include in the configuration are:
Parameter Name
Data Direction         Register          Length               Modbus Command                     Communicator Internal Address
Control Word
Write                     40642             1 Word(s)          [16] Preset Multiple Registers     0x0200
Preset Speed #1
Write                     40121             1 Word(s)          [16] Preset Multiple Registers     0x0202
Status Word
Read                     41040             1 Word(s)          [03] Read Holding Registers        0x0000
Output Speed
Read                     40501             1 Word(s)          [03] Read Holding Registers        0x0002
Control Word Enable
Write                    40114             1 Word(s)          [16] Preset Multiple Registers      0x0204
Reference Selector
Write                    40643            1 Word(s)           [16] Preset Multiple Registers      0x0206

So i setup my TCP screen.  i attached that to.

I have watched the videos on brains, modbus etc.  But still need help  If anyone can shine light on this.  I would be greatly appreciated.

I am wanting to start and stop spindle, and adjust RPM's.

General Mach Discussion / Connecting Emerson Drive SK to Mach3 Program
« on: February 26, 2013, 08:29:27 AM »

Hello everyone. I have been building my cnc and I have successfully hooked up my spindle motor (SM2-C54) from Ekstrom-Carlson to a SKBD200110 Emerson Commander Sk VFD drive. The spindle and drive pretty well together although there were a few parameters to change to get it operational.

I am at the point I would like to hook up the drive to Mach3 control. I have found that the drive is Mod-bus compatible, and will also connect to computer via Ethernet also. I also have a rs-232 to rs-485 converter. Has anyone done this?

I would like to start and stop drive, also maybe monitor spindle load on screen and possibly control speed to. I do have digital inputs and outputs along with analogs for meters and such. So now is the question and to make this all handshake between each other.

Any help would be awesome.

General Mach Discussion / Triggered limit switches in Mach3
« on: February 13, 2013, 07:39:12 AM »
Hello everyone.  I have recently finish building my cnc and have ran into a couple things.  I have done some reading but the few things I have tried have not worked.  I have put 2 limit switches per axis.  Using the two for limits and one of them for homing.  I have them in series on each axis, one leg to ground and one to each designated pin.  I am using pins 10, 11, and 12.  Have not installed e-stop yet but will.

The problem I am having when enabling the Y and Z axis Mach 3 states that I have a triggered limit.  I push the reset button and it does reset and then about 4-6 seconds later it says its tripped again.  I go to diagnostics screen and there are no LED's lit for trips.  Now I can enable X axis and the homing works.  The axis moves to that point and it stops.  And if I send the axis to trip limit it works.

Another problem that I things corresponds with my axis problem is that when I turn off X axis and enable Y axis and try to home.  Y starts to move and then stops.  Same with z axis.

I am stumped. I have checked my wiring and redid some wiring thinking I had a shielding problem.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.  Thanks everyone.
