General Mach Discussion / Reset button always flashing
« on: November 19, 2021, 05:00:48 AM »
Hi there, I have just loaded Mach 3 to run my rotary axis on my cnc router, all was fine then I loaded Gery's 2010 screen set and now I can not reset the software when I start it up, the red flashing reset button keeps flashing all the time and I can not jog or do anything, I have tried all the setting in pins and ports for the E-stop but to no avail, when I revert back to Mach 3 screen the reset button works fine, I have had the same set up a few years ago( Mach3 and 2010 screen set ) and it all worked fine, but now I can't reset it.
Any ideas or suggestions will be greatly appreciated    :( :(

Cheers

General Mach Discussion / Motor turning
« on: July 26, 2021, 02:08:46 AM »
Hi there, I am building a wood turning lathe, two axis X and Z, using the Mach 3 usb controller two stepper motors ,two power supplies, and two M542 stepper drivers, I have wired the motors and drivers etc. connected to Mach3 Turn, using the key board short cut keys and the pendant the motors turn nicely in both CW/CCW directions, one motor at a time by pressing the appropriate keys etc, but I can not make the two motors to turn simultaneously by pressing the two appropriate keys at the same time, tried all the setting in config screen to no avail, is there something I have missed, I can turn each motor in both direction but only on at a time. Any information will be greatly appreciated.

General Mach Discussion / New Control Panel for Mach3
« on: May 17, 2017, 06:38:03 AM »
Hi there, I am working on a control panel for my home made cnc router, I am running Mach3 and a UC100 usb motion controller and2010 screen set, I have made the control box with a joy sticks and buttons to activate the various mouse/key stroke commands, it is wired to a I-Pac2 key board emulator, my problem is:- I can understand how to allocate the basic short cut keys such as Page Up/Down left right etc, but for the likes of me I have no idea as to allocating the likes of Alt R for cycle run etc, has anyone done this or knows how to do this I would like to hear from you, keep in mind that I have no experience in writing macros or any thing like that, if some one can explain in plain and simple language the various steps and point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate the assistance.

General Mach Discussion / Gremlins in Mach3
« on: April 01, 2017, 10:10:10 PM »
Hi there, I am using 2010 screen set on home made router, every time I use the simple auto zero, z axis will come down to touch off plate make contact retract and touch off again... some times it will go up to clearance specified.. other times a drop down box will ask if it is ok to retract.. press ok and it will go up... but now instead of going up it will come down to the touch off plate and stay there, is there any thing that can be done?  and to-day after cutting about 20 name plates the screen freezes up but only when you go to close the g code nothing happens the g code is still on the screen.. all the axis can be moved, the dro's show the movement etc, the reset button works. but the screen will not clear or load another g code, only way to clear it is to shut Mach3 down and restart, this only started to-day.  Any info will be greatly appreciated. I have attached my xml file

General Mach Discussion / A dumb question
« on: February 20, 2017, 12:15:52 AM »
Hi there, I have been using Mach 3 for a while now but did not have the nerve to try it out:  If I am running a G Code program e.g.  cutting a shape or v carving and I have a joy stick type of device for moving the axis while jogging, If I was to move the joy stick while the program is running will it  a: stop the program
b: do nothing or  c: crash the system?.... is there a built in safety feature that cuts the joy stick off while a program is running?   ??? >:(
