I have had to Stop my program while running and when I press cycle start it seems to lose its place.Should I raise up the cutter before pressing cycle start?

I am cutting a .0625 deep 1/8 wide groove in birch plywood and this is what it looks like.Feedrate is ay 50% and router is at 23000 rpm.What would be the problem?Thanks

I am using mach 3 with a usb smoothstepper,every so often it stops comunicating and I have to restart the computer.Today it stopped at 160460 and got lost so when I hit cycle start it cut right across my job.Is there a way to start where it stopped after a restart of the computer

I am setting up a new machine and wondering what I should set the safe z at.Is that the distance to stay above your clamps.My other machine is set to -0.5.
