General Mach Discussion / Plasma cutter shuts off after 5 seconds
« on: December 18, 2017, 04:37:53 PM »
Hello I am converting my router table to plasma, So far everything is going great except  my plasma cutter shuts off after 5 seconds, I have it connect from the hand torch trigger to my spindle start relay.     I can hear the relay click the torch fires then it starts to lower and then nothing, If the two wires going to the relay are crossed it will stay on all day.

If I reset the plasma cutter without doing anything else it will give me an error saying that the torch trigger is depressed during startup.

General Mach Discussion / Rotary axis bug?
« on: February 24, 2015, 03:24:38 PM »
I have recently setup a rotary axis and have got everything to work properly except if I feed hold or e stop and then resume the y moves -6.5 and then it resumes cutting. Is this a bad setting or some sort of glitch??

I know the code cannot call  for a y move because I am not using continuous 4th axis.

General Mach Discussion / Rotary axis setup help
« on: February 05, 2015, 03:39:35 PM »
I have read quite a few posts but am still stumped, I am setting up a rotary axis on my router table but do not have the steps quite right I believe.      I have a g203 with 10 microsteps and a harmonic drive rotary with 50-1 reduction. The numbers I came up with is 222.222  and .0036  The first one makes it turn fairly smooth however sometimes when I am jogging it goes the wrong direction,  the second number .0036 just makes it growl.  Also when the axis indicator rotates once the chuck rotates about 5 times.

Chuck type: K11 100mm three jaw centering chuck
Center height: 65mm
Total height: 115mm
Angle: 0.036°/ step  (0.018°/ step for 100:1 )
Gear box output shaft diameter: 25mm
Reducing ratio: 50:1 (or 100:1 )
Stepper motor: Nema23 57mm 3A 2-phase 4 wire

General Mach Discussion / Readouts scrambled on mach 3
« on: June 10, 2014, 08:30:51 PM »
Hello I am having a problem with mach the feedrate and dro readouts, they are all scrambled, instead of Z+1.5 I get Z+224.56 or something random the feed rate display is also messed up showing huge figures.  A restart does not help the situation at all however it works perfectly other wise but this is annoying. No changes have been  made recently, I am using smooth stepper but have not had problems with it.

General Mach Discussion / Best Computer for mach 3 for production
« on: May 18, 2014, 08:57:40 AM »
Hello I have an old bench computer running mach 3 and smooth stepper. I use this to cut small 3d models it would save me lots of time if I could load up the whole bed and cut at once however my computer (2.4ghz 3 gig ram) times out the smooth stepper if it get more than 3 boards at a time or if I click on the simulation window. What is the best machine I can get to fix this? I understand there is a  memory limit due to OS.

General Mach Discussion / Noob screen question
« on: December 10, 2012, 07:39:01 PM »
Hello! I just outfitted my my machine with a cross laser and even got the button and script to work correctly, But I am having a problem with the screen, my resolution is 1024-768 on computer. However when I save my screen it has the large gap at the bottom even though I picked the same resolution when I started.

I though maybe I jimmied something when I changed one of the buttons however I reloaded my default and it did the same thing what gives?

Also how do you set one screen or another as default?

General Mach Discussion / adding extra breakout board
« on: September 29, 2012, 07:07:58 PM »
Hello I am using a 3 axis cnc that was build by someone else, And I am hoping to add a lathe and tangential cutter. I dont need to use them both at the same time should I get two drivers and steppers or just one and switch them somehow?

I am currently using a c11 board from cnc4pc.com with 4 steppers and gecko drivers.
