Hi all, I have been running my system now for about 2 years and my spindle speeds (driven via a VSD 120Hz = 7000RPM and 400Hz = 24000RPM) have been okay'ish but now i have replaced the PC and would like to set it up properly. I now have spend the last few days trying to figure out how the pulley setting work but just cant. What i change or set doesn't come out when testing. Do I set just pulley 1 from 7000 to 24000 with a ratio 3.429 or do i setup all 15 pulleys starting at 7000 to end at 24000?

Can somebody pls help because all the searching i cant find anything.

Regards

John

Hi, I have this 24000 RPM China spindle. I had it working sort off??? The PMDX-107 card was faulty and was replaced. Now i have s100 (Min 120hz) = 7200RPM and S1000(400Hz) = 24000RPM. Reading up and trying to understand the spindle and pulleys, changing the pulleys, changing the Spindle motor setting just does not make, again, sense. Pls help??? Tks John

General Mach Discussion / Info regarding GetDRO's and etc.....
« on: April 05, 2012, 01:42:55 AM »
Hi, what I'm trying to do is find out the link, if there is one, between the screen button's or enter blocks. Don't know how to insert a pic so anyway on the Mach3 Big Blue Screen we have the probe setup and the "plate thickness" enter block, my question is what is the GetDRO number for this block? Similarly there is a  "edge finder dia" on the Offsets screen, what would the GetDRo number be for this be. The reason for my questions is I'm writing a script to find the x, y, and z edge. I have one which is working but don't understand why?

General Mach Discussion / Help on PMDX-125 & PMDX-107.
« on: March 25, 2012, 07:57:53 PM »
Hi, i guess this topic has been discussed before but after searching the forums i cant seem to find anything!

Can somebody please give me a "set-up for dummy" run down to set-up the PMDX-107. I'm using the PMDX-125 in "Normal mode" and trying to get the PMDX-107 to work. I have got all the info from PMDX but it just confuses me and not sure of what i should or should not see regarding voltages or LED's. I also understand what the VSD wants it is just this PMDX-107

Thank you in advance,

John

Hi guys,

I know this is an old topic but pls feel for us newbies..... ??? ???

My home build CNC router has a table size of 1400 x 1400 x 150. The question i have is do I set-up my Soft Limits as x-min = 0 and x-max =1400, y-min = 0 and y-max = 1400, with z-min = 0 and z-max = 150.

Rgs, John

General Mach Discussion / Z-Axis Probe to set Z height.
« on: March 19, 2012, 12:42:54 AM »
Hi, i have PMDX125 break out board and cant get the Z-probe to work, well it works but not the way i understand it needs to work. By this i mean the probe comes down and touches the metal plate which is 6mm thick. Backs off a number, lets say 12.34mm and starts to come down again, toches and retracts to a number, say 8.56mm again. After this the z-axis DRO is at a value which deosn't mean much. As I understood the process is z-axis comes down and touches the plate (6mm) and stops, backs off 0.25mm and sets the Z-Axis 6.25. Hope somebody can help. Thank you and regards. John
