General Mach Discussion / Pressing reset sets machine coords to zero

Why does pressing the big red reset button set my machine coords to zero?  This is a big waste of time if for some reason I need to press the reset button in the middle of a job. I have to re-home the machine. Fortunately the user coords stay put so I can usually continue where I left off.
