Mach4 General Discussion / angular axis incremental stepping
« on: July 08, 2018, 10:42:33 AM »
I have an A axis which is working well except when I jog 1 degree repeatedly, I get 1.01 then 2.02 then 3.03
The addition of hundreds is not always consistent.  I expected that a jog of 1 degree would always show a DRO of 1 more degree.
It also happens when I use a Gcode move to 1, 2, and 3 degrees.

Is this a step per unit issue or something else from the plugin etc?

I have a Pokeys57E and a CNC4PC C62 BOB.

Thanks

Mach4 General Discussion / new plugin Pokeys

How does one upgrade to a new plugin for Pokeys in Mach4?

Thanks

PoKeys / homing
« on: June 22, 2018, 06:31:02 PM »
I have Pokeys57e and CNC4PC C62 board working very nicely to control a single stepper motor. The limit switches work well but the homing routine will not work.  The motor turns and when the table hits the limit it just stops and limit is lit in Diagnostics.  I have tried all the tricks described in the documentation but nothing makes a difference.  I have the newest version of the plugin which is supposed to have a more sophisticated set of options for homing.  I have run the Pokeys software outside of Mach and from inside Mach with the same results.

Thanks for any ideas!

PoKeys / Pokeys57E and one motor
« on: June 06, 2018, 07:02:17 PM »
I am using Pokeys57e and measuring very nicely from 4 analogue pressure sensors in Mach4
Now I would like to add a single stepper motor but it needs to be a rotatory axis.
I also have available CNC4PC C62 board and the BOB to interface the Pokeys57e to the C62.

It seemed that the Pokeys57e could control a motor but I cannot get it to work.  I am using
Mach4, a Gecko drive.  I tried to setup using the Configuration in Mach4 for Pokeys
but every time I try to turn motor control, the GUI crashes.

Should I just connect the 57e up to the C62 etc?

Thanks

Mach4 General Discussion / Lua file operations
« on: April 25, 2018, 05:23:01 PM »
I cannot get Lua to write to an empty file.  I create the file nicely and if I put a character on the first line then the write command works fine
If I create a file which is empty, then the commands do not work.

Anyone have this problem?

THanks

Mach4 General Discussion / analog input voltage issues in Mach4
« on: April 08, 2018, 11:47:37 AM »
Having trouble getting the correct voltage values in Mach4 from a Pokeys57E.

I measure voltage at the analog input pins up to 3 volts max but Mach4 registers only see about .8 volts max.

Does anyone have an idea what is going wrong.  Tech support has not responded with anything helpful yet.

Not sure if this is a Pokeys issue or a Mach4 issue.

Thanks so much.   Up against a deadline so getting panicked....

Mach4 General Discussion / plc vs screenload script programming
« on: April 04, 2018, 09:22:03 AM »
I am collecting 4 analog input voltages with programming in the PLC script.  Each sweep of the PLC reads the analog voltage and it displays on a meter.

I would like to turn on recording to collect these values for 5 seconds.

I am thinking of a global variable startrecording = "on" could be set with the down script of a button on the screen.  Then the PLC script would be checking for the "on" state of that variable and begin building an array with the voltages for 5 seconds when "on". Then after 5 seconds, the PLC script would change the startrecording to "off".

Now I would have the array ready to write to a file.  Is there a problem doing this all in the PLC script?  Should I put the file operations in the script of a button on the screen?  Can I pick up the array as a global variable from that button or should I create a function to pass the array?  Not sure just how to sort through all the possibilities to decide what is the best method.  It does not seem like a good idea to potentially slow down the PLC script doing file operations.

Thanks!
